I have sleep problems as well. I work midnights, and have for ten years now. On my off days, I convert back to normal hours so I can spend time with my family. I have a noise machine that I turn up "rain or ocean sounds," and that keeps the outside noise at bay. Also, I take a daily allergy pill that puts me sleep.

I haven't been able to sleep for years. It's a very big problem. I take Ambien and I am sure that's the problem now, because I would never be able to sleep at all without it.

I use to take Ambien a 1/2 tab at a time. Man, that stuff really works. But then i started reading where people can sleep walk/talk/eat/drive/sex. My hubby did tell me " on more than one occasion"' that we'd been intimate, and I don't remember, so sleep sex is true! I quit that stuff cold turkey..Lol!

No fun, if you don't remember it! All though, still burning calories.

I honestly think I had more trouble sleeping pre op than I do now.

Even though its still not great. Am I wrong in assuming that as we get older we sleep less anyway? Most of the older people I know seem to survive on tidbits. I cant imagine that, I want my ten hours!

Yeah, I have heard all those stories about ambien. I am really lucky. I take it and get in bed and wake up about 6 hours later. I wish I could sleep longer. Sometimes I do lay there a long time before I can fall asleep. I have no desire to get up and eat or talk on the phone or drive or any of the things I've heard people do.

I am sure DH would love for me to wake him up, but all I want to do is fall asleep!

I take synthroid and do not have to crush it! My doc said that as long as pills are not much bigger than an M&M candy there is nothing to worry about with the sleeve surgery!! Good luck and welcome!

Oh good to know!!!!!! Thanks! :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
