I'm March 20th also! So excited and nervous. I have my pre-op appointment on March 11 (MONDAY!) but I already cut the white flour and sugar out of my diet this week just to get a head start. We'll see if it does any good. I think the biggest fear for me has been on whether this will work for me. I've been overweight all my life and up and down. I haven't seen below 200 since I was about 12 (seriously....that bad). Now I'm 5'8 and a hair under 300. Blah. Looking forward to a new future.

I can sense the excitement (and nerves) on this thread. Can't wait till we're all done and safely on the other side. A patient recently sleeved by my surgeon has had a bleed and it is making me even more nervous. I am wondering if it is a sign I shouldn't be going ahead with the op.

Argh how negative do I sound? lol

Time for a bit of positive thinking me thinks....x

gilx

Funny thing. When something like that happens, it usually makes them MORE attentive. So now might just be the best time to have it done.

Best of luck to you!

Kyeta thank you so much for your reply. That is an excellent way to view the situation. I have just realised how negative I am being. Time to focus on the exciting aspects.

Well its bedtime here in Scotland nighty night, look forward to more updates tomorrow. Xx

Ok fellow March sleevers, I am now on day 7 of being sleeved. I still have some pain on my left 15mm incision, but it is a little more tolerable now. It really does help to walk , walk, walk! I still have a little gas pains here and there but not as bad as they were the first few days. The gas x strips come in sooo handy. It's definitely getting easier to move around and walking is actually kind of fun now that the sun is out. I am still on my Clear Liquids until Sunday then I will go on full liquids, kind of excited for a little bit more variety to my diet. Lol. For me I find that if my Water, liquids are cold with ice they tend to go down better than lukewarm or room temperature liquids, but everyone is different. I have to say the first couple of days weren't too bad maybe because I was on pain medication, lol the next couple of days were pretty much hell! But now it's like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so good luck to all my fellow March sleevers, we'll be starting the new spring season with a new spring in our step!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
