I've been looking I can't find it... Is it a group that you need a password to access?

I'm also scheduled for march 7th. I'm nervous but really, really can't wait for that day to come.

That is because it is "sleevers" not sleepers. Damn autocorrect.

I'm not ready but that's because it's not official! I have my phyc eval and my last pre op required visit. It's been a 90 process before they can submit for my insurance approval! So we will see! I really hope to know within a week or so! But I'm in Washington state!!

Then I will keep pulling for you for it to clear soon! Keep me updated. And how cool is it that we are on truly opposite sides of the country!

I'm shooting for March 7th. I have my stress echo, one month followup with my dr. and psych eval tomorrow. On Monday, I have my Upper GI, Nutrition consult, and sleep Study. I've heard my dr. does a lot more preop testing than most, but better safe than sorry! :)

I started my clear liquid/protein shake diet today. Is anyone else feeling like gagging from the texture of the shakes? Any suggestions?

PS.... Add me to the list please! :)

Not sure if you like Peanut Butter but a teaspoon or two works wonders for me on the texture. Also chopped ice and then blended really well. A bullet or other personal blender works best. Hope that helps.

I use jay robb Protein Powder. dissolves completely by just stirring with a spoon and it makes a really thin drink. Can be mixed with milk, coffee, or a sugar free drink of your choice.

I'm March 1st. Way to start a month with a bang! So looking forward to it, but I do have this annoying devil on my shoulder whispering things like is it the right thing to do? What If something happens? You have 3 children counting on u...what if things go wrong? I'm not super big (35 BMI), but obviously I'm big enough if they are allowing me to have surgery. If I don't do it now I know I will keep going up up up and having to get on more meds. I need this tool like nobodies business. I need to get off my sleep apnea machine and lood pressure meds. Will someone please shoot this stupid devil on my shoulder?!

Bang!! He's dead!! lol

Look at it this way - this is for your health - what is better than being off the meds and finally getting healthy - we all know that some meds cause OTHER issues right? Besides, your kids need you there in a healthy way for the long haul. I have had similar thoughts - i think we all second guess ourselves -- and i believe its HEALTHY to second guess such a big step - you wouldn't want to be carelessly making decisions like this right!? But at the end of the day, you know this is the right decision. When i told my husband that i wanted to do this, he said "ok but i think its a little extreme". My response was "i think its more extreme to sit back and not do anything about this - i have been struggling since forever, my grandmother had diabetes...what am i waiting for? A life of living with a sleeve of pills every day and doctor visits"? Its time.......

Just started on day two of the liquid diet and so far so good. I am keeping a positive outlook so it feels better. Seems like twelve more days of this is impossible, but I put on a blouse my hubby gave me for Christmas for he first time this morning and said to myself, I can do this. It is only for two weeks. After the surgery I am sure I won't even think about it. I am hyped and ready. BRING IT ON!!!!! :-)

I am on day four and it actually gets better. Heavy on the Protein and no carbs definitely curbs your appetite. You'll do just fine.

See, that is exactly what concerns me about this whole thing, and makes me question if I should even go through with it. I've done low carb diets, and actually did quite well on them. I lost 40 lbs in 3 months once doing high Protein and low carb. Then when I went off the diet, I gained back 50. So, if this is just a glorified 'diet', then I could probably do this on my own without surgery. Someone please tell me I'm crazy for having doubts, and that I need to do this because it is a tool for long-term success.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
