@leo you don't have a pre op diet to follow? Mine is for 10 days pre op. Low carb, low fat. Basically grilled chicken, green veggies, some citrus fruits, fish, Protein shakes...

This pre-op diet would be a dream ^ I have to go on an all liquid diet 14 days before my surgery. I am totally freaking out!

I just got approved and notified of my March 7th date. I am so excited I can hardly breath. Start on the liquid in six days. Anyone else on the 7th. Would love a partner in crime.

Is it just me or does it seem like it will feel "more real" once we have to start that liquid pre op diet? Lol march 6th just feels so far away right now.

I agree with you. But I came home yesterday and found my Pre op diet paperwork in the mail. I have to start on Monday. It just got real for me.

Thanks everybody. I think we have a good group of March sleevers. This is going to be fun. Matt I agree that when you get the diet stuff it truly makes it real. I am going to be on fusion I think for my Protein Drinks. I already did a couple days of testing to see if I can handle this and it was ok. I know that two weeks is a far cry from two days, but I have wanted this for so long and I know I will tolerate it.

It is going to be a long six days till start. LOLOL

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
