Tolerate something 1st time, but not the 2nd?

Hey all, I have been really lucky and tolerated all food I have thrown at my new tummy...except last night. I was at work and had brought some cheese & crackers with me for a snack (4 wheat thins & 1 oz swiss cheese). Right after I ate them I got nauseated and had to run to the bathroom where I did vomit- sort of. I was wretching, but nothing was really coming up. It wasn't dry heaves- I had stuff in my stomach. So now I'm thinking, so stuff will go down, but when you need to throw up, it won't come up? I had eaten this same snack once before, and I didn't have issues with it, so what gives? Did this ever happen to anyone else? And what's with the bizarre "non-vomiting"?

Maybe you just had too much acid in your tummy and it mixed wrong; or maybe you're becoming lactose intolerant. I haven't experienced this yet....and hope I don't.
