Ladies - What Size Clothes to Cross Your Legs?

Hi Ladies,

I started out a size 26 and am cruising down into a 20. For those of you ahead of me in the journey, approximately what clothing size did you wear when you noticed you were crossing your legs comfortably? My legs cross in comfortable chairs, but not in "waiting room" or "office" chairs just yet. How long do I have to wait? To me, that's going to be one of the greatest NSV's....

Thanks!

Hi Jim. We don't think you're dumb at all, just that you're a man, so you might not understand that a woman feels very feminine when she is able to cross her legs comfortably. It's one of life's little pleasures that is taken away from us when we get above a certain size....

I used to be a size 28 and now I am a size 24 almost a 22.. I can comfortably cross my legs.. depends on your legs too.. LOL I am five nine and have LONG legs.. :nervous

Oh my gosh enterprise01 you made me laugh so hard! I needed it! Thank you! I think I'm in the same boat as you. I'm 5'2" and I too remember crossing my legs once in 1993!

I agree it depends on your height! I am 5'0", and I can't remember the last time I could cross my legs! I know I couldn't even at a size 18, and probably not a 16 either. I'm sure in high school when I thought I was fat at a size 7!! I wish I were that fat! When I do try to cross my legs, my knee hurts and cracks. Must I move it clean out of socket!

Not banded yet. Maybe I could band my thighs!

Since there are some shorter ladies on this thread, can I just say that don't you find it annoying that you can get petite clothing in plus size dept.? They occasionally have business suits or dresses, but who wants to be formal all the time? Well, I do have luck with pants. I need some petite/plus size shirts and casual wear!!! They seem to think no one short is overweight!

One day, I went into Catherine's, a plus size clothing store. I saw this adorable dress. I was excited because it was a short length and usually the want us to hide our legs--I rarely find plus size dresses that don't go to the ground. Anyway, as I looked more closely, I realized it was a blouse!! That is why I need plus/petite!

Oh the day I can wear a 14 and shop in the petite section!

Oh I am having a Dionne Warwick psychic connection to this thread....I was visiting someone this past weekend and sitting in a chair in their living room and I crossed my legs and they stayed in place. In the past I would have had to hold my leg up with my opposite hand to keep it in place, but not this time. And it was not uncomfortable. I was so excited I was actually going to start a thread on this topic and here it is! I am very short 4'11" and it is tough for shorties to cross their legs. I only kept it their a few minutes but it really felt like an accomplishment.

I love this thread. Crossing my legs is one of my goals. I am only 4'11" and I am in a size 20. I think I remember when I was doing Weight Watchers, one of the many attempts to lose weight, I was down to a size 12 and could just start to cross my legs, but of course gained all the weight back plus some. I have very short legs so I think that is part of my problem. I will be back here when I can do it.

Definitely depends on height. I'm almost 5'5" and I just started to be able to cross my legs again this weekend. I'm in an 18 now. I've missed that so much!

Hahahaha!

I just thought "I wonder if I can cross my legs???", and so I tried, and ended up like, rolling over on the couch...You know it's almost time for surgery when you're literally rolling around like a ball!!! I wish someone had been here to see it!!!! :)

HA! With your sense of humor you'll do GREAT with a band!! :P

Wow , must be nice .My 5'0 frame and chicken legs do not let me cross mine comfortably. And I have always

wanted to. I hope that I can loose enough weight to be able to.

Thanks Gals ! Sandra:phanvan

My 2 goals are to touch my toes and cross my legs..... I'm starting at a 22.

itsuptome , I can relate .I think height plays a huge role. I have always had difficulty crossing mine eve when I was a 12/14 . But you may be right we may be able to at 8/10? Wish us luck . We are jus about the same my good days I can sya I'm 5'1 and I'm at 194.3

Your weight started just a few punds under me. Kepp in touch with your progress ok. Wish you the best !
