Sleeved Nov 12th, now down 94lbs and the 12th of Jan will be 2 months out! just keeps falling off! can't wait for the next 100 to be gone. Things are changing and finding I can do what I used to do after struggeling for the last 12 years of being in "Fat Hell", can only blame myself, but never again!, only going to get better now.

What was your start weight? I'm trying to find someone to compare with.

I am wondering...the people who have done well with losing alot..is it that you are not eating carbs (or very few?) I have a feeling this is my bigger problem because ever since I slowly added them back in, my weight loss has slowed. But very hard to completely give them up! :(

I was sleeved on 11/28/12 and am down 40 pounds now. I worked out 2 days in a row last week and was so sore for the next 4 LOL....I am totally out of shape. It did feel really good though so I am sticking with it!! Right now for me the food is the biggest issue, I just don't really even feel like eating, nothing looks or really tastes good. I do it because I know I have to but I have no desire to. I am still struggling to get in the required amount of water/liquids. I feel good, no real complaints I am confident the food thing will get better, eventually!

I try to watch the carbs that I eat, but I don't have a magic carb number I stay below. I've lost 45lbs in 8 weeks. Not magical, but I'm happy. I started at 248 and I'm determined to lose the last 3lbs to onederland before my birthday.

My surgery was November 28 down 31lbs. I feel good so far except for days where I feel really weak and always feel like I am starving. Other than that, I am happy with my progress.

Sleeved 11/13- down 45lbs. HW:248. I don't really watch carbs too much- just try to limit them a bit- I'm not going to go out and have a bowl of Pasta (although I did have 1 bite of lasagna a week ago). I am determined to lose these last 4lbs before onederland by next Friday (my birthday). It's been my goal from the get-go. I have the flu now so I haven't really been able to work out for the last day or two. But it has helped with weightloss- lol.

I was sleeved on 11/12 - day of surgery weight 221.5 - today I'm 206 - so about 16lbs. THAT'S IT! can you say slow loser? I still have restriction - thank god :) I was in a stall for like 3-4 weeks. I thought the scale would never start moving again - but it has this week. Preop I lost 15lbs. So for a grade total I am down 31lbs. 16 since day of surgery is probably the least amount I've read that people have lost in 8 weeks post -op. I am trying to Celebrate my small successes and not dwell on the scale. I make a conscious effort every day to do the right things - sometimes I slip but for the most part I am dead on. Except for taking Vitamins. I am a bad Vitamin taker. I just bought Centrum chewables today, and I like them, so I'm going to take four a day and some added Calcium because I can't stand chewing the bariatric ones I bought from my hospital pharmacy. Constipation has been a never ending battle for me. I have hypothyroidism and not sure if that is part of my problem or not. I have been taking meds. for it for 17 years now. I started using a treadmill a couple of times a week and signed up for my first ever yoga class starting next week. I know I should be running or something more but I'm not motivated to do that yet. We'll see what the spring holds for me :) Good luck everyone!

Hi I was sleeved November 27th and weighed 290 before surgery and Im down to 250!! So 40lb gone so far but I feel so like I should be losing more!!! Maybe I'm being unrealistic or just to hard on myself but im just so scared that this suirgery wont WORK!!! To Yasmine I eat a little bit of everyhting but to be honest all Snacks or food that I put in my mouth have to have some kind of Protein because I struggle so much to meet the protein. Also I do myfitnesspal Ortegap. but how many calries does it say you should be having cuz that programs gives me so much even though my dr told me 1200. How many calories is everyone trying to consume!! And how do you get a ticker

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
