All of my December sleevers...

I don't feel those charts are very realistic. So many of us that have been overweight so long have to do what we are comfortable with. I don't know what is technically ideal for me at 5'5" but I can tell you I haven't seen that weight since Jr High School and I'm 38 now! I'm thinking 160-175 is about where I'll finally land and I'm currently at 255. I've lost 100 pounds so far and still have a long way to go. I also rode horses most of my childhood and will NEVER have small thighs! I'm ok with that though. I haven't honestly started exercising per say. I have a 5 month old puppy which has made me more active so that helps. I'll get there....it's all about the journey. Right now, I'm just super excited about Louisville Football season! I get to yell, act crazy and be an idiot. And, I can sit in the seats easier! Gonna be a great year!

I'm also 5'9. I've lost 106lbs . And have another 100 lbs to go. I'm currently at 270. Down from 376. That's where my doc wants me. But when I met my husband 25 yrs ago I was 185. And really liked that weight. I for sure will been skin removal Surgry. And my family Dr is already talking about me getting my breasts done. Because after this weight loss and breast feeding two babies they're so deflated. Feeling excited and more energetic.

Ugh... still have 30 pounds to go to my personal goal... 41 to my "normal" BMI.. but that'd be GROSS skinny... things need to speed back up!

My husband is 6 feet tall. He was "lanky" in his youth. His lowest weight at his adult height was 158. That was definitely too skinny. I believe that he thinks his ideal weight is 175-180. He is currently 190. (BTW, he has NOT had bariatric surgery...I had it...) Any way, I think you will know when you get there, what looks good on you. I really think a lot of it has to do with your build. My husband doesn't have broad shoulders. I guess he could work out his arms a lot and build up muscle mass there, but it's not who he is naturally.

hair is Protein. Try the protein hair treatments that would be used after chemical processing. Like 3 whipped eggs with teaspoon Lemon juice or the over the counter stuff. Add more Liquid Protein to the diet. Use a Protein Shake for some of the between meal liquids.< /p>

your so awesome with all this info :)

Lately I've had a change in schedule! I went from being home the summer with my babies to working full time, being a full time student, 3 kids with sports and Tuesday we start school! When I was home I could monitor my meals and water!!! Now I'm all over the place. I don't eat we'll or drink plenty of water! It's take me a minute to get use to the change and its effecting my weight loss! Help....... I'm need encouragement!

I have the same problem. No routine especially because of kids and whacko schedules. I will look for whatever advice other people give you.

I'm trying to figure out what weight is right for me. I'm 20 lbs away from goal and a normal BMI but when I look in the mirror with all the loose skin it feels like I could easily go 30+ more lbs down. I have NO idea what 20 lbs on a 170 lb 5' 6" frame looks like so I might take the 20 off and feel just right.

I'm just kinda lost right now. Happy to be down 100+ lbs but no clue where I'm gonna land or what I'm gonna do.

Well I am 5'6 and I understand how you fell I was gonna stop at 180 but i was still way to big so I took it to 165 and still not happy now I'm going for 150-155 I think there I will be okay I'm almost there and am okay with this weight Its the skin that has my tripping I'm set up for skin removal soon so its all good. maybe then I can really see my hard work.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
