I did not have a drain. I have heard it feels much better once its out. I'm not sure how bothersome it is...

To be honest the drain wasn't as bad as I'd imagined although it is very uncomfortable....it was hard to find a comfortable sleeping position and hard to shower with it but it just wasn't as bad as I thought.....the day that sucker came out, I began to really love my sleeve........so a little uncomfortable but all and all not as bad as u may think.....good luck

I had a drain. It was removed on day 3 when I left the hospital and yes you do feel better. You are able to stand up straight more and it's like a big weight lifted. Also if you have staples on your incisions, once removed you will feel back to normal.

I did have a drain, I was sleeved Nov 3rd, and had a drain until Nov 7th. I felt a MILLION times better once that thing was out! I could not believe how long it was when they pulled it out!! I thought no wonder I couldn't bend over, no wonder I frlt so much pressure in my abdomen, no wonder I couldn't get comfortable at night! Once it comes out, I hope you feel better also!

I had a drain for a week, and I was thrilled to get it out. It smelled and was a pain to hide and clean out and deal with but removing it wasn't why I felt better after a week. It was just a bonus.

I had two drains for almost ten solid weeks (yes ten!). It was a nuisance but not really a big deal. You have to be careful you don't yank on it while you're showering, sleeping, or getting dressed. But you become used to it.

It doesn't FEEL like anything, maybe just a pinch or an itch at the site where the drain exits your body.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
