I was self-pay with a wonderful surgeon just 2 hours from me in Louisiana. 9800$ total which included surgical center, 2 surgeons, all Pre and post op visits and anesthesia. Much more comfy to me than going to Mexico, but everyone is different :) I used a personal loan to pay for mine.

25,000 all in. Surgery, pre op and post op. I am using my bonus from last year to pay. Ironically I work for Kaiser Permanente but they won't pay as I don't meet their requirements. So I find it amusing that I am using their money to do it!

Wow a 25000 dollar bonus for one person. What the heck did you do that was far beyond the job ur paid to do?

I was sleeved on Oct. 30th in Tijuana, MX by Dr. Garcia. I paid $4,700 for everything. I only had to pay a $500 deposit and then the balance was due the day I arrived and checked in. I paid by CC for the deposit, then by cashier's check for the remaining balance.

Best thing I did for myself!!!

I didn't say my bonus was 25,000. I said I was using my bonus from last year. As for what I do..I earned every penny of my bonus..trust me.

Actually it does not sound like that at all. I also don't appreciate you judging how much or how little a bonus I earn when you have zero clue what I do. Furthermore, I am not following your logic about bonuses and high insurance costs.

pay your deposit, then pay with cashiers check, they ask for a photocopy to verify your appt date bc ppl have been know to back out, which cost them bc that time was scheduled, if there is no photocopy they assume you cancelled and can fill your space, also ppl have gotten cashiers check and stopped payment on them so the photocopy also gives them time to verify the check as good. I suggest you bring your balance with you and only pay the deposit as requested. The doctor you are using is CREDIBLE he just sleeved my brother without any incidents!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
