How are all the okies? I had my surgery and am 9 days post op. I am starting to feel really good, but I miss food - very badly. I want something to chew, my doctor still has me on Clear liquids. I can start mushy foods on 2/1 so I'm looking forward to that.

My weight loss is really fast right now, and I suspect it will slow down soon once I start eating.

Hope everyone is doing okay and it sounds like we survived the ice storm.

Thanks Chrissie - your such a sweetheart!

I have THREE more days of liquids and I'm counting the days down very eagerly. I don't think I will ever drink another cup of broth after this, LOL.

Misschrissie, Sunshine, oklabubba, you are all doing fantastic!! The liquid part of the diet seems like it takes forever to get through, but it's worth it, when you get to start eating mashed potatoes, and stuff. sorry, i probably shouldn't mention that to you now. But it gets better, it truly does.

Kristi

How are you doing Oklabubba? I think we had the same doc, didn't you use Gorospe? I know we had surgery the same day and at the same hospital, cool.

How is your restriction?

I'm still really restricted, can only eat 1/2 cup of food. Still on Mushies and I'm fine with that. I'm supposed to start regular foods on Thursday, but right now, mushies are very satisfying.

I'm supposed to go see Dr. Pond with Dr. G's office on March 1, where we will discuss my first fill. If the restriction doesn't loosen up, I don't think I will need a fill yet.

I hope all is doing well. I'm now down 38 lbs and loving every minute of it!

I am with KTUL-TV in Tulsa, and we are working on a story about the "reality" of weight loss surgeries/procedures. There does seem to be a misconception that it's an "easy fix".. you have the procedure, and everything turns out fine in a short amount of time. After reading some of your posts about the changes in eating, foods, and expense involved.. I think your experiences can help educate others who are considering the surgery. If you are in the Tulsa area, and can help us with this story, please email me at kmitchell@ktul.com. Thanks!! :-)

Hello everyone....looks like many of you are progressing nicely from the sound of your posts! Way to go Okies!!!

I will soon be at my one year anniversary, and I have lost 35 pounds total. My restriction is so tight that I cannot tolerate "anything" (food or drink) before noon. I was hoping for better results...but I'm thankful for the weight loss I have obtained.

I remind myself that my band is only a tool....the rest is up to me. It's sometimes hard to see the future with tears in your eyes. Good luck everyone! Dreamer

Hey guys, BlueTattoo from Norman Ok. Was wondering if anyone had used Dr. Lana Nelson or Ronnie Keith as their surgon? I am going to get this done one way or another but i was wondering if anyone on here had any experience with them. The people i have talked to have had great success with both of these doctors. Just a lil more feedback would be helpful :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
