Decided To Stay Off The Scale

Recommended Posts

Sleeved Nov 7th and as of a week or so ago down 30 lbs. this past weekend I had to buy a new pair of jeans because we were going to a theatre and my jeans were very big in the butt area! When I tried on the jeans (usually I grab a 22 or 24 size) I had to ask for a 20... Then I tried on a size 18! I walked out of that store with a smile in my face and a pair of 18 jeans! It was then I thought that my scale is not what I need to look at everyday. It's how I feel in my new jeans and the inches I have lost already. I'm not measuring myself to see how many inches I lost, I'm just going to do the best I can and enjoy my new jeans and when I go see my doc in 2 weeks I will step on the scale. I hope in January I can buy a pair of size 16's !!

you are doing great! Like the idea of staying off scale that really helped me try once a month. It is very freeing. Just focus on your eating plan. Plan what to eat and eat what you plan and you too will be in a body you can live in :)

I weigh and measure once a week. If I have a week where the scale hasn't moved much, then usually I can tell in my measurements, I want to be healthy and feel good, but don't want to become a slave to the numbers, so once a week works for me.

OMG...I was sleeved on 11/6 and I am in a size 18 as well. I am so there with you, I'm not going to live my life by the scale but how I feel and what size clothes I get into! I was a strong 22/24 top and bottom. I am now a 14/16 on top and a 18 on the bottom! Yeah!

Coco41 that's great!! I went to banana republic one of my favorite stores which I have not been able to shop at for years and got some long sleeve tunic style shirts and I fit in a xl so I'm thinking the top is like 14/16. I can't buy too much but I have always been a jeans and funky sweater kind of girl with my merrells clogs or my uggs I heard many people loose a shoes size too so I'm staying away from shoe shopping

Going to treat myself to a Anthropolgy visit when I get to a 12. Love love love that store!!

my shoe size did change was 9/12 now 8-8/12. Agree with waiting till you get to the place where you are truely comfortable in your body. I had over the years "collected" so may sizes!! now I only have my small sizes :)

I can completely relate. I was sleeved 10/16 and I have become a slave to the scale. In the morning and at night before bed. I havent taken my measurements, but it can see myself shrinking! I had my hubby hide the scale and I will only make an appearance on Tuesdays!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
