Because I Cant Figure Out To Respond To Those Who Have Responded To My Post......

New thread to thank you for your encouragement ! So happy for all you with great blood sugar, reduced medicine, better control! I am so grateful for this surgery.

Question......are we still considered diabetic? At some point will we not be diabetic? I'm asking about type 2. Will we be declared cured? Or controlled?

My type 2 diabetes has cleared up so far. The morning of surgery my sugar was 301. Friday morning it was 90. I check it sill on occasion and it has never been over 128. That was 8 weeks ago.

I'm wondering if this surgery has lowered my resistance. I have had 2 colds since being sleeved. I haven't had a cold in years, had a flu shot and of the age where I have built an immunity to most viruses.

From what I understand it is not cured but like in remission. I have heard that years down the road your sugars could rise again. Why this is, I don't know, it really does not make sense to me if you still follow a healthy eating plan.
