Need Help From 200 Ish Start Weight, Experienced Sleevers

Recommended Posts

I am 3 months postop as of last Friday. My starting weight was 196, currently at 160, that is total loss from before preop diet. I basically lost 15 pounds the first month, 10 the second and 5 the third. Is that normal?

Today on MFP I have had 611 calories, 57 carbs, 22 sugar and 59 Protein.

Is that about what I need to be getting daily? What changes should I be making? I do take my Vitamins and I have been trying to get my protein without shakes but today I did have one. Should I be trying to stop the shakes and bars?

I had surgery in MX and do not have a NUT. I am starting to lose my hair but not to bad yet. Any suggestions would be great.

I'm not a NUT, but looking at your numbers, my suggestion would be to lower your carb intake, and up your Protein by 30 grams or so. I get a monthly B12 shot and take Biotin, it seems to help with the Hair loss, and gives me energy. I wouldn't give up drinking the Protein Shakes, maybe, use them for between meals. The lower BMI'S seem to lose a slower. Your doing well!

Lower the carbs a little bit and up your Protein. Please remember the less you weight the less you will lose per month and you will need to definitely up whatever routine you are doing.

You are doing great though. Congrats!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
