My doctor recommends 3-4 weeks off which isn't going to happen. I've got 2 weeks vacation time and I'm using all of it.

I am 27 from Michigan. Mother of 2. Surgery 2/6/13 with Dr. Cabrera & Venezuela through Medical Tourism in Tijuana, MX. Flying in 2/5 staying at Marriott leaving 2/9. Going back to work after 8 days.

I researched many Drs & was happy with reviews, facility, & price of my package.

Surgery is on Feb. 8th. Will be taking the minimum 2 weeks off and hopefully given the full four weeks! I see many of you are using vacation time? Did you all check in to your short term disabilty benefits?

My Short Term Dis. Pays 100% for the first 4 weeks once approved! Vacation saved!!

Lucky you! Mine does not kick in until you have reached 30 days off. Meanwhile they take all your sick time. When that runs out they take your vacation. Stinks!

Oh wow. Ours kicks in after 3 days.

:-) and yes that does stink! I will only have to use 3 of my sick days to cover the 3 day waiting period

I'm under a year at my job, I started in April. I would be covered by fmla by then but i'd still have to use all my pto until my fmla kicks in, no point when I can just save my time off and then 6 weeks after I get back from work my pto resets. Yay me!

Awesome! Extra vacation time! What day is your surgery?

Am I the only one that's mind has been taking over by this surgery. My every thought is consumed. I'm sooo ready to get this journey started. I feel like a kid waiting to go to Disney. My bags are packed and I'm sitting in the car waiting on mom and dad to come on. Lol.

OMG me too I am waiting on my loose ends to get all tied up and I think about it all day it even made it hard to enjoy my christmas to the fullest

Hello everyone :-) I'm booked in for the 5th of feb ... In North Queensland , Australia ... I'm 5f 2in and 94kg ......bmi 37 ......

I didn't think of myself as a food funeral kind of person, but lately I've been eating a lot. I'm trying to keep it under control but the closer i get to the liquid diet stage, I'm feeling less in control of what i'm eating...anyone else have this issue?
