So the bill says 110,915.17 after all the discounts it totals 28,207.00 that's a pretty penny IMO not to bad considering I spent 4 days in a private room at Cedars Sinai..

Amazing, we are pretty lucky! I could have never done this without insurance covering it! Very lucky and happy!

I never tallied my bills up but know I saw one for $48k....I was only responsible for about $1500 of the entire process so not much at all....

I work with insurance frequently as the Director of Human Resources for my firm. I was self-pay and my single bill was around $18,000. I was told that if I had insurance coverage the health care providers would have billed the insurance company roughly $50,000. Ridiculous.

Doctor - $4500 (includes 3 months of follow up visits)

Anesthesia - $700

Hospital - $9250 (for up to three nights)

Tricare covered my labs and blood work....

My total out of pocket expenses were limited to a $100 co-pay, kbby....I didn't have to pay any percentage of the total bill. I was incredibly fortunate...and HP approved my surgery within 2 days of receiving the first request for approval from my surgeon's office.
