January 2013 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I felt the same way' date=' it was like the TV was FILLED with Wendy's commercials!! I was ready to kill for a mozzarella stick, but the urge subsided around day 5.[/quote']

Since I love to cook, I've noticed that I'm forcing my family to eat my favorites lol. At least I can still cook them even if I can't eat em!

I seen the PA today and signed all my consents for surgery on Monday jan 28th. Today is day 2 of 5 of liquids, the first 5 days I got to have lean Protein and 1/2 cup veggies. I'm ready to be on the other side of this surgery! Prayers to all for a speedy recovery.

Hey everyone

So I am 1 day post op and feeling ok. Day of surgery and this morning were pretty uncomfortable. Home now and looking forward to getting a full liquid diet on Saturday. It still kind of hurts to drink Water because of gas pains. :/ doctor said procedure went amazingly well and wishes he had taped it for training purposes!

Put on 6lbs from all the fluids at the hospital. Can't wait to start seeing the lbs drop!! How is everyone else doing?

I'm 3 days post op. Home and on full liquids now. Made the mistake and tried some Cream of Wheat. Too soon. It's just sitting on my chest. I'm sticking to broth and jello!

Congrats to all the new sleevers!

2 weeks postop today down 12.5 lbs. Started purée stage, so far not having any difficulty eating 2 oz each meal. But didn't do so great with the liquids :(

My surgery was on Tuesday. The gas pain and bloating is the worst! I finally passed gas today. I'm ready for this gas to go away!! I haven't had any issues getting my liquids in. I once sipped to much, and that was painful!

I'm finally passing gas, but I'm still in pain. One of my incisions is swollen, and sore. I'm still working on my first shake iof the day. I'm not sure it is even half gone. :(

I love how we can talk about passing gas on this forum... and it is OK - and not only OK - but encouraged... and we all encourage each other in the passing of the gas... it is awesome... but it also cracks me up where we are in our journey together with this!... just made me smile today :-)

I think I would get that incision looked at by a doctor before it gets any worse. I'm no expert but it is very swollen and red. My incisions certainly never looked like that.

Thank you for your concern! I'm waiting to hear from the nurse. My other incisions don't look like that. :( I'm a little scared.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
