January 2013 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

All your stories are so inspiring and I am so glad there is this venue to turn to. My surgery has been set for February 20, 2013. My Pre-op Class is 2/12 and I meet with my surgeon on 2/13. I am so excited and sure wish it was sooner. Seeing all the posts on here give me a general idea what to expect. I am worried about (constipation), yeah that problem. I have it so bad now because of all the Vitamins and dieting. Sure hope I get something to counteract this problem. Well I am closing for now, thank all!

I had surgery 1-16. As of the past few days I'm finally able to get up and down on my own. But I wouldn't be able to without my abdominal binder. My belly button has finally shown its face today lol. My stomach was so swollen it was hidden. I have one incision that hurts horribly. It keeps me from doing a lot. But I will say everyday I have felt better. Expect to gain almost 10 lbs in Water weight while in the hospital. I went in at 263.5 came out at 270 and today I'm 252.

I'm on liquids til Feb 10th ( cream Soups pudding yogurt Protein shakes) after that I can add seafood chicken and eggs some veggies. After 5 weeks from surgery. I will see the dietician to see what my new diet is.

Hi, congrats to those sleeved and good luck to those coming up.

On day 7 and doing great!

One Q - what pain meds did you all take? How long

I was on Dilaudid, and am off in day - just 1 at night to help toss and turn pain before sleep

Hi everyone...I just had my gastric sleeve surgery on 1/15/13. I'm feeling better each day...the first 4 days were rough. I'm now trying to figure this Protein requirement out and making sure I stay hydrated. I'm hoping things just get easier and easier from here. I'd love to chat with anyone who recently had the procedure to share experiences, suggestions, etc.

Take Care,

Allison

I was sleeved Mon 1/21. I have some cramping and when I'm drinking the liquids it feels like its getting stuck in my chest. Other than that I've been ok. No vomiting thankfully just a lil slime this morning.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
