Egd Tomorrow. Kinda Nervous. Any Reassurance Out There?

So I'm having my EGD tomorrow and I'm kind of freaked out:

1) that they put me out completely

2) that they could find something which would delay or deny my surgery

3) that they put me out completely, did I mention that creeps me out?

It's no big deal right? Right?

Hi,

Well, I'd liken to a different procedure and some people are put under for that one and some are not. One thing is it may NOT involve as much as it seems it does just to be done. They are going to scope the area and it should not be as intrusive as some one can think it to be, that is what I think. Other is more than likely if nothing is wrong now that you know, there will be ever less chance anything is to be new then. I wouldn't be scarred myself I think.

Good luck

It's a piece of cake. On mine, they found I had ulcers, so I am on meds and will have another egd. No biggie. Good luck and relax. It takes less than 10 minutes.

I totally freaked myself out over my EGD!! they did a conscious sedation for me, but basically I was OUUUUUUT. the only thing after was my throat felt like I swallowed too much popcorn at once. Not really sore, but not really normal... & fine by the next day.

Anesthesia totally freaks me out. I'm trying not to think too much abt it or else I may talk myself right out of surg! ;} haha
