Love reading all these posts of successful weightloss, I can't wait to join in (surgery date dec 10)

Before wls, how many of you guys EVER used the phrase "it's been so easy" or "I dont even workout" when it came to weightloss?

I love it! Did you ever think in your wildest dreams that it could be done, let alone by you?

I'm excited you are joining the sleevers club, but you should know it ISN'T all smooth sailing! The first few weeks are down right rough for most. Some even wonder if they've made a mistake. I'm not trying to be a "Debbie Downer" but I want you to be prepared. I had 6 months of bariatric counseling and thought I knew exactly how it would go. Boy was I wrong! While most of it was mental I experienced hunger and it was tough to be on a different diet than my family. I was on an emotional roller coaster for weeks and felt like I had permanent PMS. This is not a magic wand cure it is a tool that takes work. I'm 6 weeks out and am now feeling like myself again. I'd do it over in a heartbeat but it hasn't been all roses. This forum has been awesome and is a great support in being successful. :)

Totally agree, this is a tool. Like having a gym membership, if you have it and don't use it it does nothing for you.

I had wls 5yrs ago with lapband and its been a roller coaster ride from hell. I'm so happy to be getting this removed and switched over to the sleeve.

We have all struggled with weight & know how terribly hard it is to lose. Most of us have felt that we'd never be able to lose it or feel good about ourselves. I've read many posts over these last 8months see comments about "how easy weightloss is" my thoughts are that they are referencing compared to what they have experience their whole life of trying to lose and not being able to. To them was asking if they ever thought in their wildest dreams that they'd be able to lose the weight & make that statement. Regardless of smooth sailing or rough journey they're traveling :)

Now that is something I couldn't agree with more. It took me 6 months to lose 20 lbs pre-op (that I would have gained back without surgery) and 3 weeks to lose 27 post op. you made a great decision! Having had the band I'm sure you know what you're getting into. Best of luck. You're scheduled on my sons birthday. :)

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
