any one in utah want to talk

Hi, I live in Orem and was banded almost 3 weeks ago. I am loosing weight now because I can't think on anything to eat so I eat very little. Not good to get into such a habit because you get discouraged too quick. Just wondered if anyone has any good ideas for the mushie stage, still have a week left. Sometimes when others tell about things to buy and try they name places only back east, if you know what I mean. I would love the hear from anyone here in utah.

Oh, the Jazz. :) It's okay though, good season overall right?

I'm two weeks out from getting my band. Back at work since Monday, doing great. I do hate this shoulder pain! It gets a little better every day though. I think my big incision is infected, and I can TOTALLY feel my port, which I wasn't expecting, but doesn't bother me. Hope everyone else is doing well. Check in and say hi! :)

Congrats, Wen. Yes, that shoulder pain was the worst part for me and lasted the longest of all the pain/discomfort. I just had my second fill yesterday so I'm on mushies today but I think I might actually feel some restriction--HOORAY! I didn't think it would take this long (2 1/2 months) to really feel the band working. Don't know how I missed that--I thought I would start having restriction around May 1st when I got my first fill but I didn't get a fill at my first appt. and so just had my second. But I know it all takes time--patience! Right?!

Good luck going back to work. Hope your incision isn't infected--maybe some neosporin or bag balm would help with that. I use bag balm for everything!

Thanks for checking in, Karen

Hi there Utahns,

I thought I would :popcorn:in and say Hi! I had my first fill last week and I lost almost 10lbs. Man I feel like the "biggest loser" I think tho the little bit of restricition I had is starting to wear. I shall see how my 2nd week progresses. Its a holiday weekend here and we are headed out of town I cant wait! I am so stoked with my results from my first fill!

:clap2:

Take care....your aussie pal

Wow everyone is doing great!! I just wanted to stop by and say hello. Work has been really busy for me lately so I haven't logged on as much.

mrdowntown...I don't know of any liquid or gel vitamins that taste good. I'm bad and I don't actually take a multi-vitamin. I know, I should.

Can you guys believe it's June already??

I think I found something - I was at CostCo and they've got something called LiquiMax I think - liquid multi-vitamin - 11 dollars a bottle 32 oz - 1 oz per day

I take Centrum Silver chewable vitamins, chewable calcium, and liquid orange-flavored fish oil every day. I order them through drugstore.com. If anyone wants more info I'll get the bottles and give you the details but I found them easily on the drugstore.com website by searching for liquid or chewable vitamins, calcium, and fish oil. I was really worried about the fish oil tasting fishy but it's quite good and has no fish taste whatsoever. It's really helped with my cholesterol (even way before banding).

Hey all! I'm in Springville getting banded by Dr Ortiz on June 27th!

I heard the costco ones weren't bad at all Mr Downtown....I just take the flinstones chewables with my boys lol (II figured I better get in the habit since surgery is just around the corner)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey, anyone want to go to dr hansen's support group on Thursday. thought I would make the effort

I'm still going to the newbies' Saturday classes but this Saturday is my last one--ask me next month! I'd love to go. Karen

Hey, fellow Utahans! How is everyone doing????

I just got a fill and I actually am feeling a tiny bit of restriction. Woohoo! I'm getting there!

Vivienne at Dr. Hansen's office mentioned that there is a group of bandsters in Utah who get together once a month for dinner. Do any of you know anything about it? I think it sounds fun. Let me know the details and if it is open to everyone.

Hope everyone is doing well. Keep in touch! Karen

Hey everyone! I've had a crzy summer and I haven't logged on to LBT in a long, long time. I was out of town for Dr. Hansen's last support roup meeting and I can't go tonight for July. Is anyone else going? How is everyone doing? Is it hot enough for you?? :)

I went tonight and it was really good. Vivienne said that next month they are going to do a water aerobics class "next door" for the support group. Should be interesting!

Hope everyone is doing well. I had another fill today and am hoping I have some restriction. Of course, I won't know until Saturday when I can eat solids again and I leave town for 3 weeks on Monday so I do hope all is well with the fill. It was small but it's always scary for me (especially now that I should be getting close) to think of being filled too much and not having access to the office.

I'm off to welcome to new little grandsons into the world--one in CT and the other in NM. Both are first children--one daughter is 37 and the other is 20. Exciting!

Have a great summer, everyone. Karen

Hello Banders! I'm new to this forum and just getting started on what I hope will be a wonderful journey to a new me! I have an appointment next week with the Surgical Weight Loss Center at SL Regional and looking forward to it.

Has anyone been able to get IHC to cover their banding? I've been told it is non-covered so I'm working on appealing.

So happy to have found you all!!

Jill
