Is it normal to still be nauseated 3 weeks post op? I had nausea bad at the beginning, then it seemed to subside. When I tried to transform to puréed foods, it started back up again, so I went back on liquids but I'm still very nauseated. It's hard getting my Protein down. I can barely get anything down. I think I actually had my first dumping syndrome because I drank my Protein Drink right befit eating. I vommited and was nauseated the entire night and it hasnt stopped. I see my doctor on Wednesday and I'll ask, but wanted to know if anyone else deals with this? I'm on zofran for the nausea and it makes me so sleepy. I've been sleeping way too much.

Don't wait to Wednesday, call their office first thing in the morning. If nausea meds aren't working there might be something else at play.

They had to change my to phenergan before my nausea went away. However, this was only while in the hospital and I haven't had any issues since. I wish you luck on getting it under control. It is no fun!

I am three months pst op and nauseated. I had an endoscope and had sores in esophogus. I am now on Prilosec it has helped and cleared up the sores. I have discovered through time that eggs and cheese make me sick so I avoid them and I feel better. Skim milk soothes my stomach, I put in those little strawberry milk shots and they go down just fine. I have always eaten fast and I still struggle with it. If I eat to fast I get real sick.

I am 2 months out and feel nauseous most times after eating, this is helping me to not like food so much, I USE TO LOVE food so I definitely need to take it down a notch. I too eat to fast.

Davsan,

eggs make me nauseous too. I guess because they're so heavy. And Ilove eggs! Oh well. I'm just trying to stay away from anything that's too heavy. I'm starting to feel better now, but all I can manage to get down without nausea are my liquids, mashed potatoes and sugar free pudding. Oh and lite yogurt too. I eat my mashed potatoes with fat free butter and sea salt.

I'm sorry you had sores in your esophagus. Ouch! That must have hurt. I'm on Nexium already for a bad stomach and hiatal hernia in my esophagus. I go and see my doctor today so I will see what he suggest.

I hope it works for you, it took a few days to get into affect for me but I've only been sick once since and it's been over a month since I started the gummies. What a life saver they are (:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
