Looking For Dec Sleevers Out There

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on Dec. 18 in NYC. Would love to hear from others around the same time.

I had mine Dec.10....I'm having a really hard time getting Protein down and all my liquids. I started purees yesterday....I had red snapper fish with liquid on it to keep it mushy....a half tap of potato salad.....I feel amazing in spite of the limited protein.

Hi December Sleevers!! I was sleeved 12/20 and feeling good. As an extra added bonus, my gallbladder was removed (it contained a very large stone) and I also had a hiatial hernia repair!! I'm down over 13 pounds since starting the pre-op diet on 12/1/12.

Last night noticed a warm, red area above IV site. Dr. looked at it today and thinks its an infection. So now I have to fit a liquid antibiotic into my liquid schedule 3 times a day! Ha.

I acutally started a spread sheet in EXCEL, adjust the times each morning according to when I get up, and print it each day. I have a personalized schedule for the day and check each item off as I go. Seems to be working.

Anyone else out there have to self inject Claxon to prevent clots? I've been doing that myself since my 2nd day home. Only 5 days left for that. Kinda freaked me out.

Glad I went through with my decision!!!

Hey congrats on loss! Aside from infection you sound like all us well. I had to do 10 day Enoxaparin Sodium Injection it was not a big deal since I had done HCG Injections, but I will say the last 2-3 border on painful with little more burn than usual. I'm losing slow but losing all the same. I plan on doing liquid diet until Jan 1 then moving to purses. Hopefully, it aids in a loss if not no harm. Also, plan to step up my exercise. I plan on being a HUGE success! Good luck & keep in touch.

We're those injections the lovenox? They didn't bother my tummy until the last 3 or 4 then they started hurting stabbing myself. So weird!

Well today was my first day of soft foods. I was so excited!! Had an egg and some melted cheese. Could only get half of it down. Still was the best egg I've ever eaten.

I was sleeved on 12/20/12, and as of today (eight days out) I'm down 16lbs! I've also had my first NSV! I love this place, and all the support, and I had a pretty easy way on this road to skinny! (:

Ok my fellow sleevers. I was sleeved on 12/26 and trying to figure out what I can get down. Ive tried chicken broth (can get a couple of teaspoons down before my stomach tells me that's enough) ive tried SF Jello with the same results. I have been sipping Water all day. Am I being too impatient ?

i was sleeved the same day and i cannot tolerate the Protein Shakes they make my stomach hurt. i tried to eat chili with no beans or meat so basically the sauce and it was good. i am trying to do better with liquids too! on another note- i made a mistake of trying to eat a quarter size piece of hamburger and i almost burst and it came right up. thats what i get !

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
