Moving Right Along!

Recommended Posts

In August, I made the decision to have the sleeve. I had my first consult with the surgeon on Sept. 11. My insurance doesn't require a doctor supervised diet at all, but my surgeon requires a 3 month supervised diet, so that started on Sept. 11. They basically need to weigh me for 3 months. I had all my blood work and my EKG in Sept. and met with the NUT as well.

On November 2, I have my endoscopy. November 6, 3rd appt with surgeon to be weighed, etc. November 8, I have the Pulmonary Function test. November 13, I have the psych eval. And all those appointments are 2.5 hours away! I think the only test that is not scheduled yet is the sleep study. Once all these tests are done, I can get my surgery date!

I'm very excited, nervous, and scared at the same time. I dread all these appointments because they are all close together and 2.5 hours away. But, I will deal with that.

I could be having surgery by the end of November or in December! :D

Don't dread the appointment's. I scheduled all of mine on the same day because I am four hours away from my surgeon. Think of it as the end of one a long boring process getting ready for your new life. Make the day fun and go shopping or treat yourself to a pedicure.

I live about 90 minutes from my doctors, and i had them schedule all my appoinments the same day. I had the 3 month of psyche, phys therapy, dietician and my surgeon....would just take one day and knock em out. Dont know if thats something you could do as well.....but your getting there, good luck!

I'm trying to reschedule the endoscopy to the same day as the pulmonary function test since they are both at the same hospital. I hope they can do it.

Good luck to you, I am also 2.5 hours away from my surgery site, I am trying to coordinate my appointments also. I did do some of them locally so see if your hospital, surgeon, will allow that. I don't have a surgery date yet, I am hoping they will submit to insurance after I go in November 5th.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
