Tweety, am I reading your signature correctly... you have a 10cc band and had 2 fills, and are only at about 4cc now? I have only 2cc in my 10cc band, and expect to get another 2cc with my second fill next month. Can you please let us know if what you have is not doing the trick? I am so far away from my doctor and I will ask for more of a fill if 4ccs seems too little. Thanks... and yes, I am not as "hot-blooded" now as before... maybe it DOES have something to do with our weight??

Karen

I have a 10cc band. 1st fill was 3.5cc, didn't feel much different. I got another 1.5cc 10 days later. I feel much more filled. I could probably use a tad more but at least I feel a difference now.

Wouldn't it be great if they could just "fill 'er up" It is like a little dance with the band. I want restriction, and I want it NOW!!!

My egg test is going as I thought. My am on produced PB's and my 10:00 one was ok.. little tight, but ok... and I am off to do a 2:00 one. I also have been working on developing a perfectly well rounded 600 calorie diet.. it is harder than you might think. There is a lot of nutritional needes to get into little meals.

Have a great day!

mistyarmenti, I know exactly what you mean when you say sober. I am realizing how food......eating has filled a problem that I have with myself. Now that I cannot have food like before I am realizing....opening my eyes to the bigger problem which is my low self esteem issue. I have always thought well its because I am overweight that I hate myself. Now I am shinking and still don't like what I see in the mirror. I want to be happy with me....inside and out. I am going to check into going to overeaters annonymous to get support with being happy with myself. It really controls your mood in everything when you don't like yourself and the way you look. Yes I am from Southern Calif. where it is the land of the models but I am from a really overweight family so all of this is part of what I grew up with. How being overweight really effects the way you are and the way your think about yourself. Even at my thinest I still didn't like what I saw in the mirror and looking back would love to be that size again.

Try to find a support group in your area. My brother had bypass and I didn't understand why he was pushing me so much until now of getting a support group to join. He started drinking alcohol to fill the food issue and is now in AA but went from 400 down to 200. He is happy with the weight loss but it opened a whole other can of worms for him and almost lost his marriage. Now I get it and understand because the food is a no no.

Good luck

600 cals seems a bit low, no? I know I was on like a 900 - 1000 cals before. Perhaps now that I am filled I am eating less. It just seems really low. Is that what is suggested these days?

I hear there is a band being tested that fills mechanically by remote control. that would be nice.... Have you ever driven down a street seeling if your garage door opener opens anyone else's garage? Can you just see it? Get mad at your spouse and fill him up so he can't eat? check your remotes at the door suring support group? ah, the visuals are endless. I suspect however that the remote will only be in the doctor's hands......

Hi Karen! I am at 2cc as of yesterday. I haven't tried to eat anything yet. I'm going to have some cottage cheese at lunch and see how that feels. All liquids are going down with no problem. I live far away from my doctor too. He said usually between 2cc and 3cc is the right spot for 10cc banders. He said I could go in today if it was too tight (which it's not) or if I really didn't feel anything. He only comes up once a month and it is a 5 hour drive if I want to go to his office in San Francisco. How do you feel? I have never gotten anything stuck. (knock on wood) and never pb'd. (knocking again). Do you feel full/satisfied? I'm not sure how I am suppose to feel. Most of my weight was lost during the first month and very slow since, but I am very happy with the experience so far. You look like you are doing great too. I love this November room. Everyone is so inspiring and full (lol) of great tips. How far do you live from your doc?

I hear ya! I went to the doc and I told them I needed mental help! I don't know what "full" is or "satisfied" is or "hungry" is... I mean, obviously I think I know, but am I full or satisfied? Now I am full. The doc said to remember back to when I had the surgery. It should be like that. SOOOO, I then said OKAY, NO it is not like that. So we filled again. I think I need a bit more. Obviously I have not PB'd or vomited since that tends to happen when you are overfilled.

If I stayed on 600 calories, my metabolism would re-set and I'd have to eat even less than that to lose weight. I don't want my body to react to too much fast weight loss or too few calories. I'm trying to sneak this weight loss in gradually, and hoping my skin will catch up as I go!

Ok, so I am sitting here trying to decide if I should go see him today and get more fill. I just ate cottage cheese, fine. I am eating Soup. Fine. How do I know if this fill is good or if I need more? He leaves tomorrow. Any advice?

Marnie and Tweety,

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the 10cc band. I only have 2 ccs so far and I am hungry all the time and have zero restriction. I will get another 2cc or so next month so I should have more to report then. It is interesting how different we all are in the amount of ccs we need to get restriction. My doctor told me it would probably take getting to 6 - 8ccs to get the maximum benefit. I am 3 1/2 hours away from my doctor --- so Tweety, I understand the feeling of wanting to make sure everything is as it should be before you go or leave the doctor's office!! The road on this journey is sure obstacle-filled!! :rolleyes

Karen

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
