Thanks...I sure hope they don't cancel because I don't know when I am going be able to get off work again.

I am just sitting by the phone to see what they say.

Hi...I haven't been able to get online until now....do you have an answer yet on your bloodwork?? I know you must be scared, but please hang on and remember that things happen for a reason. Maybe you need to get something taken care of that would not have been discovered if you weren't needing to have bloodwork done. Or maybe it will be a glitch that is easily fixed and you will be on your way!! Let us know soon, please---we are pulling for you!

Karen

Thanks Karen! How are you doing? Do you have to do a pre-op diet?

I did not work today because of a bit of a sore throat...I do not want to get sick before surgery, so here I am... I am going to Trader Joes in a bit to get some airborne and get rid of this almost cold:sick I am also taking extra Vit C.

I just found out that the nurse and doctor were not in today, so I won't know whether or not they will approve me for surgery until Monday. Here are the things...

RBC 5.18 H

Hgb 15.4 H

Poly 73 H

Lymph 21 L

Alkaline Phos 131 H

A1C 10 H

Everything else was within range. I have a friend who can read some of this stuff and she said it kind of looks like liver or gallbladder problems. Wouldn't you just know...something would have to get in the way of my sugery. Well...nothing for sure. I'll just have to see what they say on Monday.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Yes--take care of that sore throat!! Have you ever heard of Zicam (I think that is how to spell it!) If you take it right when you begin having symptoms, it keeps you from getting sick or shortens the sickness. It works great for my family. Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on your "bug" though... good luck!

I'm doing pretty good...working extra hours trying to get everything ready so I can leave. Sometimes it is hard to own a business! No, I don't have to do a pre-op diet, but up until now I was doing a low fat/calorie diet with lots of Protein, but have been slipping lately. Last Supper Syndrome...sigh. :cry I'm glad YOU are doing so well! And it sounds like everyone who was told to do a fast is doing well, too. Me, I guess I should not be left to my own devices.... :rolleyes

November is almost here, thank goodness!!!!

Prbrooksie,

I would just HATE to have to wait until Monday for the results, but try hard not to read anything into your numbers. If it is gallbladder, I don't think that would be a problem, since alot of people get theirs taken out when they get banded. I have heard that at several doctor's talks. I don't think that will interfere with your surgery. As for anything else, you just won't know and any speculation will only cause you to stress out. Can you go do something fun this weekend to take your mind off of this? Keep busy and hang in there---I will keep you in my prayers this weekend!

Karen

well..... I went for a 4 mile moderate hike today...in Mill valley, a trail that takes you from the inner bay and you think you have to hike huge hills to get to the ocean, but this taril takes you through very small hills to the ocean in two miles! It is sooooo beautiful! It had been a while since I had gone ther. If anyone in Cali is interested it is the Tennessee Valley trail. Only a few people know about it. Most people avoid it since they think they have to do mountain hiking for hours to get there. 4 miles! :clap2: My legs are sore already. After we went to eat...I had Breakfast and of course I was doing the last supper thing... I had steak and eggs...still within low carb, but too fatty, and one slice of WW toast with a bit of home made preserves! :omg: Oh well.... it will be ok...

Off to the HOT shower! Karen I am sooo excited! I fly to San Diego a week from tomorrow! I bought a little thermos today at Walgreen's perfect for a bandster meal or Soup and inside the lid there is a hidden compartment with a spoon...perfect! :)

WOW---we have a lot of brave people getting banded in November!! I say "brave" because most of us will be giving up holiday meals, something most other people wouldn't understand, but which I think speaks volumes about our commitment to a new life. We will be successful!!! :first:

Angela, you ROCK!!! Your hike sounds GORGEOUS!! I am so jealous!! I am also in awe of anyone who can walk 4 miles and considers that "moderate".... You DESERVED that breakfast!!

Welcome to the new Bandsters! It won't be long now!!

Karen

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
