Sharp Pains In Left Shoulder And Left Aide Of Tummy

Hey guys, I'm 2 and a half weeks after surgery and I've been getting sharp left shoulder pains, but only recently I've been getting sharp pains that come and go in the left side of my tummy as well, is this normal? I haven't thrown up once yet and never get the feeling that I have over eaten or anything?

I would give your dr a call tomorrow.

The pain in your left side can be the healing of your big incision (at least mine was). As for the shoulder pain, some say that gas can cause that.

But to be on the safe side call and speak to the nurse/dr. I called numerous times post op....that is why they are there.

Hope you feel better!!

Yes I did hear that the pain in my left shoulder could be trapped gas but when I started to get pain in my stomach I got a little worried, I think I will give my doctor a call just to be on the safe side.. Thanks a lot! x

Please call your Dr! This was the ONLY symptom I truely had of my leak!! I chalked it up to healing for weeks! I didn't get sick from it til 9 weeks out - after they had discovered the abscess!

I just called my doctor and he asked me if I'm getting shortness of breath or feeling nausea, and I'm not. So he has said that its just the muscles that could be causing the pain, however if the pain does get worse to make an appointment for Tommorrow. The pain isn't unbearable but it is sharp and it does hurt when it comes.

I think I'll hang out see if the pain gets worse..

Glad you called...hope you feel better soon.
