How us it even possible that I GAINED A POUND? I'm so frustrated. I see others losing in the double digits the 1st week and I had only lost 5 lbs, only to weigh this morning and be UP a pound!

How can that even BE given that I'm only on liquids?! :'(

Not sure about calories, but I'm doing well with my Water and Protein shakes. It's a struggle but I'm getting 64oz of Water and about 55mg of Protein.< /p>

I'm just so discouraged. :'(

I've been STARVING all day long and I have one incision that is quite painful. I managed to get all of my fluids & most of my protein' date=' but it's been a challenge mentally.

And never mind that 99% of the damn TV commercials are for FOOD!! >:([/quote']

I am going to have to give up TV. It is nothing but greasy, nasty fast food commercials!

Don't be frustrated my doctor told me that in between losing you would gain a little if you are exercising it could be fat turning into muscle which weighs more and that is a good thing :*) I haven't weighed myself yet because the nutritionist told me to weight because I would be 20 lbs heavier leaving the hospital due to Fluid build up.

I had my surgery on Monday' date=' October 15th. Are there others who had the same surgery date? I'd like to know how you're doing. I had been doing great, but today was rough...mostly mentally... and I can't figure out the feelings in my gut. How are you doing?

I had my surgery the same date. I am doing pretty well. I am getting sick of the Protein shakes. All the milk is just so clawing. I walk during the day. My incisions are driving me because they are so itchy!

In the beginning I had A LOT of heartburn. I have acid reflux to begin with and I still take 2 pills a day for it.

I visit my doctor on the 24th for my 1st post op visit. I hope it's all good. I had a bad day yesterday. I was weepy and just couldn't shake it until I asked a friend to take me out and then we went for a walk.

Sorry you had a bad day. Maybe you can try a different brand or flavor of Protein Shake. In the hospital they used optisource and it was 24 grams per 8 fl oz It from Nestle the strawberry tastes like strawberry nesquick if it's cold and the coffee tastes pretty good to if you like coffee. Normally I drink the pure Protein vanilla or chocolate, but I'm going to mix them up so I don't get sick of it. Great job on your walking that is most important. My incisions are also somewhat itchy guess that means they are healing. I also had acid reflux and take the 2 pills a day the Jello is the only thing that seems to bother me. Good Luck the 24th :*)

I had acid reflux, too. I take chewable Pepcid for it now & that seems to help. I'm also on other meds that I have to crush. I had to be on clear fluids until today. I was making my Protein powder with crystal light. I'm sick of that and so ready for milk & yogurt. Can't wait until next week when I can have pureed food.

Good for you for walking! I broke my big toe two weeks before surgery, so I'm not as mobile as I would like to be. I still take short walks.

I understand completely what a relief that is! My first was Friday. Now it's daily. I am talking Miralax to help.

Are you weighing yourself every day? I hope not. I know it's tempting, but our weight naturally fluctuates every day. Daily weight is not a true reflection of your progress.

Remember also to not compare yourself to others. I've only lost 3 pounds since surgery, and I just keep reminding myself that it's my journey, and my body will go at its own pace.

Hang in there!! It will come.

I've managed pretty well today, but right now I'M SO FREAKING HUNGRY.

I know it's not "real", but that makes it no less miserable. I'd kill or die for just some chicken salad. I need to chew. I need meat.

This is awful. Why, why, WHY did I do this? :(

I know the feeling I keep wanting chicken. LOL You can do it. How long until you can have pureed chicken?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
