Oct. 15, 2012 Sleeve Date

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on Monday, October 15th. Are there others who had the same surgery date? I'd like to know how you're doing. I had been doing great, but today was rough...mostly mentally... and I can't figure out the feelings in my gut. How are you doing?

I've been STARVING all day long and I have one incision that is quite painful. I managed to get all of my fluids & most of my Protein, but it's been a challenge mentally.

And never mind that 99% of the damn TV commercials are for FOOD!! >:(

I have felt hungry, too, or what I think is hunger. Yes, my left side really hurts from an incision. I've been contemplating getting a maternity belt to hold my tummy when I move. When I walk, I stick my hand in my pocket to hold my left side. I understand about the commercials, but it hasn't bothered me yet. I cannot get in my Protein. The Protein powder I bought smells like rotten milk & I can't stand it. I'm drinking chicken bullion & Water all day. I'm looking forward to drinking milk products next week.

I am so glad of this site as it allows people to speak to each other in the same situation which allows them to help each other and provide ideas.

Going by other people on this site it gets better and better.

Good luck girls and will hopefully see you on the other side soon.

Elizabeth :-))))

I'm a 10/15er as well. Things are going great for me. I'm holding my hand on my belly less & less (thank goodness) & my liquids are going down well. The largest of my 3 incisions is in my navel & it's the only one that has bothered me. But I stopped taking Tylenol 2 days ago because it's not hurting me as much now. Hope we get som more 10/15ers added to the thread!

Welcome! It sounds like you're healing just great! I'm still on pain meds, but not very often. I tried yesterday to get off of them, but learned it was too soon. Today I'm feeling more positive about all this. After I take my morning meds, I'm going for a walk. I've managed 10 minutes outside twice a day. Thanks for joining the 10/15ers! I hope more join in, too.

I'm so *#%$ing irritable today. My husband isn't being very care-takerish, my kids are being awful and I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow but don't feel up to it.

Also, I'm jealous at all of my other 10/15ers losing SO MUCH weight the 1st week.

BLAH.

Yeah, bad day for me, too. Parents' neighbor's dog barked all night, I called the cops, got no sleep, now my parents are pissed at me for calling the cops on their neighbor, I called the dog owner to apologize & say I'll make certain the warning citation is indeed just a warning, & now all is wonderful with the neighbor but is in the shitter with my parents. I've been in my room for over 2 hours because I don't want to face their disappointed & angry faces & the elephant-in-the-room silence.

If it makes you feel any better, I haven't weighed myself & won't be able to until my 1st follow-up appt on Wed, so you don't have to be jealous me ;-D

I had mine 10/17 so couple days after the rest of you and today I am starting to feel a lot less sore. I haven't taken pain meds since the night before last because I didn't feel it was really helping and the 2 nights prior I only took them at bedtime. Bedtime is the worst for me my left shoulder is sore and my right arm. My right arm because my iv was out of place and was pumping Fluid in the wrong spot, the swelling finally went down so that's good. I agree about those tv commercials showing food every few minutes never noticed before until now. I like the Pure Protein vanilla in a can and it has 35 grams of protein for just 11 oz they sell it at GNC (expensive like $3) and local grocery stores (cheaper between $1.50-$2) or on Amazon you can by a case for a decent price. I am going to start walking outside today for 15 minutes and I go to work on Wed so I really hope I am feeling up to it :*) Good Luck on everyones weight loss.

Emotionally, I've been all over the place this weekend. One minute I'm all, "I got this!!", and the next I'm doing the ugly cry and thinking, "I'm going to fail at this like I've failed every other time I've tried to get the weight off."

I vacillate wildly between feeling that I've finally taken control and feeling like I'm going to eat the 1/2 a chocolate cake left from my daughter's bday yesterday RIGHT NOW.

I honestly did not expect to feel this hungry at this point. I'm craving meat so badly.

Such a roller coaster and I won't OFF of it! :'(

Sleeve guru you are going to be fine. You won't fail this time you have tons of support. Just remember that chocolate cake probably looks way better than it tastes. Try a chocolate Protein Shake and if you are at the point in your diet some chocolate pudding. Craving meat have some Swanson chicken broth it really is good and it might help your cravings.

I think I over did it a little today took a 15 minute walk to the park for my 2 girls to play for 15 minutes and 15 minute walk home. Then decided to cook for the family pork chops, baked potatoes, corn, biscuits and some potato salad for tomorrow because the potatoes were going to go bad otherwise. Did all the dishes and finally relaxing. Slept a little better last night and doing well with my Protein intake, but not quite there. I feel like I may need a maternity belt or something also I have one of those belts for working out but I think it makes you sweat and that won't be good for the incisions maybe if I wear it over my shirt while I'm home. Maybe it will help.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
