How long were you off work and how are you feeling?

I went back to work in 2 weeks. Really a week and a half considering I was in the hospital for 3 days. It's been all good! A little tired more the 2nd week than the first but not too severe.. I live in NY so there's a lot of subway steps & crowds. During rush hour you better keep up with the pace or you'll be crushed! Lol

I am surprised at how fast people are able to go back to work. I am kind of a whimp, I am hoping to be off as long as I can. I am wondering if the recovery relates to age... Glad you are doing okay!

Kristi- you are not a whimp. Some people need more time off than others. It really depends on how well you're doing in the recovery process & what type of a job you have.

I'm the same wimp! I was sleeved on 9/24 and I won't return to work until nov 1st. I don't want to go back until I can handle food. I'm afraid I'll get so busy and caught up with work that I'll neglect myself and won't excersize

Girl I feel ya on that - I still have a week & 1/2 to go before I go back but for whatever reason I am dreading it & like you my emotions have been all over the place as well - everything lately seems to get on my nerves - probably b/c this eating things isn't goin as well as I want it to - scared I'm not getting my Protein in, I'm so over any Protein shakes - all of them taste nasty to me-ugh... Well hang in there, were only a month out as of yesterday so lets pray that another month from now we'll have a totally different better feeling... ????????☺????????

Hmm, my dr. is saying I can go back in 4 days. Surgery on Wed back to work on Monday.

I kinda want this, cause 1, I don't have any vacation time, and 2, I don't want anyone at work to know.

Only my supervisor knows I'll be doing something medical. Everyone else I'll just be on vacation.

Hope I can manage.

Haven't had my surgery yet.. It's scheduled for the 15th of October but I'm hoping to go back as soon as possible.. I think I would do better at work then sitting at home all day.. I also have 5 coworkers that had the surgery plenty of support there..

I was off 1 week. I felt OK when I went back (desk job) but tired easily. My doctor said the important thing is to not sit for more than 30 minutes at a time. Get up and move around, lessens the chance of blood clots.

Yep I hear you. Doc told me two weeks to recover and 2 to acclimate to some food. She is brilliant. Got bored by the end but after one day of work I would gladly take another off :) week that is. Things getting better for you? I struggle with Protein - bu I hate Protein Shakes as well. I do drink one for Breakfast and I may start adding another just to aSsure I get it in.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
