What Brand Of Ppi Are You Taking?

I'm almost out of the Pantazol grains I was given in Mexico and looking for an OTC brand I can take until I can meet with my PCP in two weeks. My surgeon suggests Prilosec but the box says it could take 14 days to work and then you can only take it for four courses a year. Is that the same for sleevers? Has it worked faster for you? Is there any other PPI that works for you? Thanks!

I take Protonix but it's an RX. It works really fast.

If you're looking for something that works fast, get Zantac to use until the PPI starts working.

I take Prevacid. While mine is Rx it can also be purchased OTC.

Amy, I didn't have any problems with acid while switching over to Prilosec. I was afraid of that too! I took some Gaviscon the first night just in case, but not since then. I've been OK with 1 Prilosec each morning since then.

I am taking Nexium. Seems to work well.

Thanks Frza. It seems I bug you all the time with my questions. I was trying to give your poor phone a break. :) I'll take our surgeons advice and get the Prilosec. I was looking at the box this morning and freaked out about the 14-day thing.
