Where Did You Have Your Egd?

Was your performed at a dr office or hospital? I'm watching the charges roll Into my insurance the last week. I had mine at a hospital as out patient. It's almost 11k worth of charges so far! I think that's crazy! I was under for 8 minutes!

My sis had one about a year or two ago at an office and I just found out hers was only 2k.

I know I won't owe that 11k but a percentage. But to me that's still crazy!

Sorry to hear that!

No reason to be sorry :).

I'm just shocked at how much they are charging. Was curious if this is standard. No wonder out system is so screwed up.

I had mine done at a hospital also. Charges almost $10,000. They costs were higher as it was deemed "same day surgery" and all those same fee apply. My insurance has a maximum they pay but I thought it was an outrageous amount too. I wound up paying my surgical deductible then, so at least now I have no more to pay.

I had mine at an out-patient surgical center. Good news is...despite testing positive for H. Pylori and taking two weeks of meds, I am officially cleared by GI for my 11/20 sleeve date! Ugh. So stressed about that.
