Post Op Octosleevers 2012. Welcome To The Losers Bench!

Recommended Posts

Well I had mine on Monday. Having a little trouble but because of other circumstances. I pulled a groin mucle getting out of bed in the hospital and I had the pleasure of it being that TOM as I went into surgery. Had to laugh at that one! So glad to be home. They wouldn't let me take my gas x strips in the hospital, but I could once I got home. They help ALOT! Hope everyone is doing good and can't wait to hear how everyone progresses from here!!

Thanks to everyone for posting their surgery experiences. I am scheduled to have mine on 10/8 and it helps me deal with my jitters by reading all of the posts. Congratulations to those of you who are now sleeved and good luck to those of us who are waiting in the wings.

Day 2 is definitely more challenging. Day 1 you still have anesthesia on board. Day 2

I have more gas pain and discomfort. Less

Sleepy though. I can only drink 30 cc at a time. (Doctors order)'I wish i could drink 64 ounces. Always thirsty.

I'm having trouble getting Water down too. Popsicles have been going down really well though. I finally can pee without working up to it on the toilet for 10 mins. Had some gas in the bottom end but no BMs yet. Day three and no pain meds all day! Feeling pretty good, just tired.

Day 4 today, got home yesterday, surgery on Monday. Gas in my left shoulder doing better-passing gas from below but no BM yet. Ate puréed turkey and it was actually good-my mother mixed in some broth and gravy. Stomach rumbled like a wild beast! Walking around my yard, still weak, but getting better.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
