Cried At The Whataburger

I am two weeks out, went with our daughters team and families to Whataburger after the game. I was flipping starving! I actually went to the bathroom and had a little pity party for myself. I want a hamburger and fries too!! I know this phase isn't forever but today I hate the sleeve and I am hungry. HUNGRY!!!

that would have been torture to be there with them. It will get better.

I have a favorite restaurant in the town my sister lives in and every time I visit her we always eat there. Well after having the surgery I went to see her and I kept feeling like I was supposed to be eating spaghetti, I actually got emotional and teary eyed. It was quite a revelation for me.

You'll make it through this. Believe me, the first 6 months went by like a flash for me! Now, I eat fries and I'll have a couple of small bites of a burger -- on occasion that present itself. You will find yourself quickly satisfied yet enjoying just a taste of the foods you once loved, maybe more than any of us ever needed!

Thank you all, It is nice to know that at some point I can enjoy these food again in moderation!

I'm a little over 5 weeks out. I stopped by a friends house last night. She was serving roast, carrots and rice. I ate some, but not much. I don't feel guilty; it was really tasty and I had no problems after eating. Prior to this surgery I would have had 2 plates. What I ate last night would fit on a saucer and I was satisfied. Viva la sleeve!

I went to McDonalds with my kids last week.... I was looking forward to this, and told myself I would only order a small mcchicken sandwich or some nuggets..... and maybe coffee... when my sandwich came, a relatively small chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes & mayo... I took 2 bites and that was it.... I gotten disgusted all of a sudden and gave it to my husband to finish.... I guess the filling was too much for my stomach to handle.... I did have coffee though :)).... It's ironic cause before my sleeve, I would get a double Big & tasty burger, extra large fries, a gigantic coke, and I would still have room for a sundae after that!!!!!!!!! God bless my sleeve...

I've cooked a lean burger w/cheese a few times. Once I had it with the bottom bun but found I'd rather eat the whole (small) burger...so I skip the bread.

I'm 10 weeks so it IS going to be okay.

Also, I'll take one fry or whatever from people and it satisfies me and makes me happy. I hardly do it, but one taste makes you feel like you aren't going to live a life of total sacrifice.

I am finding that if I will eat 'my' food (shake, etc)before I get into tthe situation...it is alot easier. I ate out the other day and had a grilled salmon at the BBQ PLACE!!! I would have never...I got a to go container and ate 3 more times on that same pc of salmon until I was scared of it and there was still 1/3 left! Sure enjoyed the company and the music, too!

You can do this, but I get emotional sometimes too. Like ending a love affair...lol!
