When Did You Return Back To Work Post Op?

My surgery was 9/19. I was allowed to drive 5 days later providing I wasn't using pain meds. I'm a single mom and had to get back to driving. I've been walking. Feel good. In constant touch with work through emails. My two week f/up appt is 10/4. I'm hoping to be released back to work as I feel good and for economic reasons. When did you return back to work?

I returned to work a week after my surgery.

I gave myself 4 weeks. When I got back to work and was still tired, I was glad I did. If I had absolutely had to, I could have gone back at the beginning of week 3.

I went back to work a week after surgery. I wish I would've taken 2 only because by mid afternoon I was exhausted. :)

I had surgery on 9/17 ( monday ) and went back to work 9/24 ( monday )....

I went back after 2 weeks. Was good until mid afternoon before I started to get tired :)

I had surgery on 9/25 and am planning on going back 10/8. Hope I can do it because I still feel like crap.

I only took 5 days off.. I was very tired but did it anyway..

I took 5 days off. I would say it depends on the type of job you have. If it is a desk job you can most likely go back sooner than if you are on your feet all day.

Ive booked off 2wks.but im gonna go back early .so itl be 1 wk off.sick of being in the house now.whant to get things back to normal.im feeling great at the moment so why not.

I took 2.5 weeks off and they worked a few short days to ease back in. Tiredness was my biggest complaint once back to work.

I took off two weeks but I could have been back in a week. I had my surgery on a Wednesday and was running around by that same Saturday.

It was three days for me and that was way too soon, even for a desk job. While I certainly don't envy you with what you are attempting you can probably do it. Try and get some more help and take it easy for at least a few weeks.

We all wish you the best, let us know your progress!

I have four weeks off. I am still tired and having pain in my left side. Much better than I was last week but know that this fourth week will have me in much better shape to fully be able to do my job. I think my age has slowed the healing process. 20 years ago when I had my gallbladder out I was in great shape after about 8 days, this had been a slower process for sure!!

I took 4 wks and have one week left before i go back on 10/8. So glad for STD as pay is 100%.
