I've noticed that when I'm getting full I get a runny nose.

Have you felt anything like that? My friend says she sneezes when full. Weird this never happened to me before the surgery.

I started getting the runny nose and sneezing after surgery. It has lessened with the runny nose, but I still sneeze a lot when I get full.

It probably is linked to the "slimes". It's like your esophogus creates thicker slimey mucus which helps get the food down if you eat too fast or too much... It makes me feel like I need t hack it up but I could see how it could make you feel like you need to sneeze, or could cause runny nose.

This is what people call your soft stop. You are very lucky to have this as the moment you've had enough you will know that is when you should stop!

My friends that's 2 years and longer post sleeve still have it...this might be a great STOP later on when you can eat too much but shouldnt.

I dont have it and wish I did!My full feeling often comes when I have already taken a bite or 2 too many!

I have a single hiccup when I am full. At that point I stop, my body is telling me I am done. I think it is a good thing. They say you need to listen to your body, I have been trying, but my body is doing so many new things, it is hard at times.

I get a single hiccup as well. I'm six weeks out n couldn't figure out my signal which in turn made me deathly sick by eating too much or too fast, now I know as soon as I hiccup, I'm finished!!!

I wish I had that sneeze signal:). I tend to stop early, don't want slimes, but than sometimes I get hungry soon after.

Hee hee! I'm excited to see others sneeze! My husband thinks I'm crazy and my co-workers laugh when I start because I sneeze at LEAST 6-7 times when food gets to the "spot". And still does 2+years out! Funny how it affects all if us differently

yep, I get the runny nose. It really is odd because I never had that happen before getting the VSG and I know for sure that I have filled up my pre-VSG stomach. It really is a blessing because eating too much or too fast makes me feel miserable (although, thank God, I have not thrown up since the 3rd day after surgery!).

Oh Dayum, that's what all this sneezing is all about. I couldn't figure it out. I'm not allergic to anything & I've been sneezing my butt off.

Interesting to hear this..... my sign is my stomach keeps going like fire crackers.. people sitting beside me can hear it... but when I've had too much I get the slimes which is a sign that I'm gonna likely throw up :)

I noticed this happening a couple times and didn't really pay attention to it until I payed closer attention and yup it only happens when I'm full.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
