Mexico Octosleevers! Add Your Name, Date And Surgeon!

Hey there! I want to start a thread of sleevers who are going to Mexico in October. I have found a couple people who have their surgeries scheduled and it's really nice to be in contact with others who may be there around the same time. I'm going to Tijuana for surgery with Dr Garcia October 27. I'll be staying at the Marriott for 3 nights total with 2 days at Mi Doctor hospital for the actual surgery and recovery. If there are others going to Mexico , but not in October, feel free to post also: I've found it so helpful to find others in the same boat as myself...

I'll make a list if there are enough people to generate one. Good luck! We're gonna rock this thing ;-)

My update.....

I had surgery 10/6 and weighed in at 260. As of yesterday day, I am 220. In the past 2 months, my life has changed completely. I started my dream job, got my first F in a class, broke up with SO and then sort of reconciled (still have issues), found out my grandma may have lung cancer (results tomorrow) and I find myself not handling stress that well. I've kind off been off program, so I started the 5 day pouch test. Hope it helps get me back on track, I feel like I can eat too much.

update:

I was sleeved 10/25. As of today I have lost a total of 54 lbs. I started at 324, lost 12 pre-op, and 42 lbs. since surgery. I'm now at 270 lbs. I hit stalls at weeks 3 and 6 where I didn't lose for 7 days straight both times.

I've also started exercising. I'm not seeing the scale move as much, but I can tell clothes are fitting differently. Really wishing I had taken measurements.

I also use and recommend MFP or something similar, and log everything. The accountability factor helps a great deal.

What is 5 day pouch test?

Bumping for more updates!

Great idea! How are our Mexico Octosleevers faring with their losses and NSV's?!?

As for myself, I had surgery 10/27/12 with Dr Garcia. Started at 270--now down to 206.5 . So about 63 lbs down and I feel great!!

So glad to see you guys doing so well!

I was sleeved 10/15/12 with Dr. Garcia, Started at 307, down now to 220! Down 87lbs, went from a size 24 to size 14 pant and from a 3x top to a Large top, LOVING the new me! I can actually keep up with my kids and enjoy training with my husband for my first marathon on my 1 year sleeve anniversary!

Wow Chel, that's quite a loss! I was sleeved on Nov 8th (after my October surgery was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy) and I'm down from 303 to 237, so 66 pounds.

Sleeved Oct 8, started at 247, now 188, still have 20 lbs to go.
