  1. I wasn't sure to where to post this but has anyone else experienced difficulty eating when stressed? I used to be a stress eater and now my stomach feels upset and crampy when there's tension or strife. I've already spoken to my surgeon and he and I agree this is the cause since swallow test last week was normal and it only happens when my ex fiance(broke up 2 days ago) is around or I have to deal/think about him. Does anyone else notice this problem? If so, does it last forever or did it seem to lessen up the further out from surgery? Thank you!
  2. I contacted Dr. Michael Orris of Weightloss Institute of Arizona, who is known for taking complicated cases. On the website, they stated that they do an aftercare program for patients who have had procedures outside of the company, but they mostly spoke of the lapband. I emailed them and received a return stating they will do after care for patients sleeved in Mexico. I was quoted $500, but I'm not sure if that's one year or 3 years. They do on-site leak tests (as far as I know are included in price) and have a 24 hour emergency help line as long as you are a patient there. He's not listed as performing the sleeve, but I did read he has repaired leeks. The doctor seems highly qualified and is on tons of different boards around the valley. I'm requesting more info, but I would recommend people do their own inquiries in interested. Good luck, hope this atleast helps someone. http://www.wliaz.com/ nfo@wliaz.com (480) 829-6100 (Phone) (480) 319-2028 (480) 446-9475 (Facsimile)
  3. I'm 7 months post-op, lost 90 pounds and about 8 weeks pregnant. My ob requested my calories go up to 2200 a day...I'm barely at 1200 and have gained 10lbs as I'm usually at 900. I'm terrified that I'm going to be right back where I was. I had surgery in Mexico and my surgeon and I don't exactly get along, I prefer not to contact him ever again lol. My pregnancy was a total surprise, actually found out on our honeymoon.

    Any Phoenix Sleavers?

Hey... I live in Buckeye too. I'm just over 3 months out.
  5. Take a deep breath. many sleeved patients take NSAIDs (Motrin) post op. Some take them multiple times a day. That being said, many surgeons say no NSAIDS ever. I highly doubt you got a bleeding ulcer after a few doses but I'm not a doctor; she should have mentioned that her warning was precautionary. A slight muscle tear may not show but a large hernia might. It could be the stitches pulling or maybe there's one rubbing on a nerve. My internal stitches from many csection (4 years ago) still tug and when I sneeze, its a white hot ripping pain that causes me to double over. My advice, see a different doctor. And calm down. I think that medical professionals sometimes don't realize that not everyone can just lay in bed for 3 weeks. Try a maternity girdle, I wear one when my incisions hurt and it helps. Take it easy as much as possible and get a second opinion. Feel better!
  6. My update..... I had surgery 10/6 and weighed in at 260. As of yesterday day, I am 220. In the past 2 months, my life has changed completely. I started my dream job, got my first F in a class, broke up with SO and then sort of reconciled (still have issues), found out my grandma may have lung cancer (results tomorrow) and I find myself not handling stress that well. I've kind off been off program, so I started the 5 day pouch test. Hope it helps get me back on track, I feel like I can eat too much.

    Multiple Sclerosis and the Sleeve

I dont have anything to add except I commend your strength going through with the surgery. I had Guillen Barre syndrome (think fast acting MS) and I only had to deal with the weakness fatigue etc for a year. I wish everyone the best of luck and my lingering nerve issues have gotten much better as I've lost weight (ironically gained by gabapentin and steroids use).

    The Recently Sleeved?

I was sleeved Oct 6th. Since then I'm down almost 50lbs, started my dream job, and am finishing up my classes this semester. Its weird how quickly my entire life has changed. I'm still around but no quite ready to post about success and haven't really had any issues. So, we are still around....

    Puree Stage - Recipe/ideas

I literally eat this for lunch and dinner everyday. For some reason, the combo is the only thing that doesn't make me throw up or have gastrointestinal ummm explosions.

    Question.....

I was sleeved Oct 6th. We're allowed to drink at work after the main doors are locked. I forget that I'm sleeved all the time. I just started this job, so when my boss handed me a beer and toasted me, I took a swing. Then remembered, ran to the sink and spit it out. A tiny bit trickled down my throat and just that small amount felt like death.

    November Vs Mexico Date Roll

Yes..someone else asked about him. I would search in the search bar for his name as I posted info about his reviews
  12. I don't have much advice for pregnancy after vsg but I had morning noon and night sickness all 9 months. I couldn't even keep Water down. I couldn't get Vitamins or liquid down, so I frequented the ER. Ask your ob if they can set up weekly or daily iv fluids and vitamins. I lost 45 pounds in the first trimester. All this and my daughter was born healthy (well other than a brain hemorrhage caused by the doctors). But she was fully developed and full term. Find a doctor that specializes in high risk and ask how they would proceed. Try not to freak out . Although I dont blame you if you did.
