I am in my 6th month of medically supervised weightless. I alot has changed for me.

We met our in-laws at Olive Garden (not a place we frequent). I was proud of myself for eating two smaller serving of salad, no bread and half a bowl of Soup. This was not an easy feat given I DO NOT have a good relationship with my in laws and I am an emotional eater.

I feel so proud!!

Thank you for acknowledging my success. This is a huge improvement for me. :)

My in-laws to do not know and we (hubby and I) have no intentions of telling them. Mother-in-law doesn't have a concept of boundaries. This is a woman in came into my delivery room, unannounced!! Prior to labor and delivery I made it clear she was not welcome in. She has caused much grief for my husband and I. My husband has worked hard to keep her at bay. We work hard to keep our marriage safe from her drama.

Did you tell your in-laws? If you have them?

I did not tell many people. Too personal for me. The psychologist at the Weight Management Institute agreed that ita best to not share with a ton of people. Only those I feel comfortable with.

Hey!! I am happy to see a message from you!!! Woo HOO!! I hope your call comes soon!! :).

Today eating in moderation seemed so much raiser than in the past!!!

I met the surgeon and I DO NOT have to loose the 15-20 like I was told!! But I am staying on track and loosing!! :). I will have a three week pre op diet that is three small meals and two small snack and does not include Protein shakes!! I was given a list of the food I can have during this time. Luckily I love all of it and it allowing for variety. I should be set for surgery in November!!

When do you think you'll be sleeved? How's everything else going for you? Smoking cessation?

Best,

Sannah

It is an incredible fete. I really understand the in-law trauma. I'm not an emotional eater, but it would have been a success if I didn't dump food in their laps! WAY TO GO!!!!!

No one knows but my husband, children and one friend at work who is having the sleeve on October 23. I intend to keep it that way.

I love my in laws but at this point have noooo intention of telling them. My MIL and I have. Have different view points and when she disagrees can sometimes go to extremes. She once hid all the car keys to all their cars so my husband who was my Boyfriend at the time couldn't go get vaccinated for school because she doesn't believe in them. (it was required cuz he was studying to be a nurse) I have only told those who I want to have know at this point!

I only told my sister in-law at first. She was really receptive and wants her daughter to also have the surgery due to her diabetes. My nephew asked what I was doing to lose weight and I told him. Then I told my brother in law and he told me that he would have prayed for me. Haven't had a relationship with him since an probably never will. I am good with that. Everyone else have been really great. My FIL and MIL were up there in their mid 90's and I didn't want to worry them. They have recently passed away. Anyway, I only want people in my life that are loving and accepting of me and are a joy to have around. :)

Way to go! You handled the stress perfectly. I love those breadsticks at Olive Garden, I would have been really tempted, lol.

They did look so good!! But I feel so proud!!! I always feel like if I am going to have bread it should be hearty and full of Fiber. Not air bread, but I completely agree the hot bread looked so good!! It was hard to pass it up when it was offered to me.

Great job lady! Isn't it amazing how our mentality changes when we want something bad enough and the goal is within sight? I personally believe (for myself of course) that I was never able to reach a weight loss goal with diet and exercise because in my mind nothing was ever at stake. Of course now I know my health is..and that if I don't follow through with me pre op diet that my liver might be too big to operate. And although I did cheat a few times at the end of last month, I have come back on track and have my eye on the prize - surgery on oct 2. Very proud of you for resisting temptation. And you are right, everything in moderation! What a great way to think now..I see nothing but success during ur post op. remember though, that we are only human and temptations will always be there. Keep focused and keep reminding yourself about the ultimate goal and how important it is too u! :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
