Swallowing And Feeling Full

Recommended Posts

I am 10 days out from my sleeve and doing good, today i felt a bit off and somewhat tired etc. But overall it has been a swift recovery. I have a question for anyone who is recently post op...how long does it take you to drink 8 ounces of Fluid? The reason i am asking is that i have been slowly increasi g the amount of fluid and decreasing the time i amm drinking it and finding that Clear Liquids seeem to be going down pretty quickly. I tried some applesauce today and my stomach had a little twinge cramp and then started making lots of noise and i wasnt sure if this was me overdoing it or just a normal series of events for diet advancement. After that applesauce i am a bit nervous about advancing to the pureed diet stage on monday. What kind pf experience was it and should any amt of pain cause me to stop and and go back to full liquids? I havent had any nausea or vomiting but a little bit of burping.

I am 1 week out and concerned that liquids are going to down too fast. My post-op paperwork says not to consumer more than 2oz in a 15 min period. I think I'm drinking about 6-8 oz in 15 min. It all feels fine going down but I worried about breaking rules. Just wonder what the harm could be. I'm thirsty!

Omg! If I drink more than 2-3 oz in 15 min., I'm bent over in pain. You're saying you can drink an entire bottle of Water in less than 30 min? I would never get thirsty if I could do that.

Yeah, I don't know why but liquids go right down. I have been finishing a 6oz serving of Jello in about 15 min or so.

I was sleeved on Aug. 27th and I can drink 10 oz. in 15-20 minutes. It will hurt a little for a few seconds if I go to fast but the discomfort does not last long.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
