Sore throat and surgery is Wednesday!

I developed a horrible sore throat this morning and cannot get rid of it. I do not have a fever (yet). Will they cancel my surgery if I am sick???? I am drinking hot fluids and eating cough drops left and right. This is the worst time to be getting sick. I am hoping it is just the weather change here in Memphis.

My white cells came back high when I went for pre-surg testing last week (surgery is scheduled for this Thursday) and I was re-tested yesterday. Still waiting to hear whether or not it's a go. But yes, it certainly can be postponed due to illness.

I hope you feel better soon!

Does anyone know when you find out surgery will be postponed? Could it be minutes before surgery prep is supposed to begin (IVs, etc?)
