I am 5'11" ...you can see my stats in my signature. I was sooooo scared of losing too much, but I hardly have restriction now so I am soooooo scared of gaining. Well, anyhoo I started at 191 and weigh 161 now. If I had skin removal surgery I would weigh 150 :) I am anywhere from a 6 to a 10 in size...which means I have to try on everything because no two designers are alike, but I start with an 8 and either go up or down or an 8 is just right. I would like to get down even further, but that would require some serious working out since I can't cut my calories anymore. My hair still hasn't grown back at all. It looks like there are some little hairs sprouting up, but those could be broken hairs so I really don't know. Everyone says I look skinny skinny, but I don't feel that skinny :) I need some plastics, but the fear of another surgery or losing anymore hair isn't worth it at this time. I really wanted to wear a bathing suit and I still won't. My inner thighs are horrible and my butt is saggy. I still don't cry about it like I did about being overweight so I must be ok.

Favorite thread! So glad to see so many posts from so many tall women!

I was sleeved March 4, 2013. My highest weight was 392 in December 2012. I'm down 60lbs so far with pre and post op.

I started out as 26/28 or 3x (4 on occasion). 12W shoe. I'm 6'2".

I'm at 22/24 shirts and 24 pants so far.

Mine and my doc's goal is 220lbs. BUT... if I'm still going strong and can make it happen I wouldn't mind being at 180lbs.

I have noticed that a lot of people don't notice my weight loss as much as they notice on my shorter mother who was also sleeved and has lost as much as me. I just have more space to take fat from I suppose.

Also, I'm not sure if it's because my weight is more spread out or if people are just being nice, but a couple of people were surprised I had the surgery because they thought I didn't need it. I just tell them I could lose 200lbs and still be at a healthy weight. It shocks the pants off them. Does anybody else get that?

I just joined the FB group. Can't wait to see everybody on there. :)

...5'10" ...11 shoe - used to be 10 prior to a hundred plus regain of weight a few years ago...

...303 starting weight of this process...287 the day of surgery (1 month ago) and 262 today....

...Goal weight is 175 (would love to be 165 - high school weight - but though I haven't had children - I am just not built the same!)

...Last time I lost 100 lbs or so...I was down to 199 in a size 16 and was feeling great!

...If I could get to 175, be a size 14...I think I would feel so much more confident.

...I carry my weight in my gut, of course. I have wide hips, which I don't mind. I have thighs, which I hope to tone up with exercise. I wish I could do more for my arms, hopefully soon, I will be able to...I just want to look in the mirror & feel a 1/10 of what I used to feel....I never enjoyed my 'skinny days'...at 5'10" and 150 - I felt obese as I do this very second...I remember back in high school thinking the supermodel Cindy Crawford was the epitome of what a female should look like...she weighed like 120 - my bones weigh that! I am so glad I don't have that messed up way of thinking anymore! I will rock my new look now - and as this journey progresses!

Take care, my fellow Amazon women! We are tall, we stand proud...we are hot!!!

that is so true. my sister-in-law who is same height (5-10) but thin (140) keeps telling me not to lose too much weight. I don't think she realizes I am still twice her weight! I swear when I am 240 shell say how skinny I am and to stop. how come it would be skinny for me but fat for her????

It's good to see other tall folks stats! I'm 5'11" & started at 300 lbs. I had the sleeve 1 month ago tomorrow & weigh 265. I was in size 22/24 pre-surgery & wore a size 20 slacks today. It feels good to be a size down!!

@playlikeworldchamps I have the same issue. I started @ 300 lbs & people keep telling me not to lse too much. I think tall girls can carry a lot more weight than some people realize. Regardless, though, I'm ready to shed the pounds & feel good again!!!

Hi fellow tall sleevers! I am 6'1" and was 325 pre-op and 288 this morning so down 37 lbs 6 weeks post-op. I hope to reach 220 eventually. I am very shapely but carry most of my weight in my butt, hips and thighs. I also am hypo-thyroid so I expect my weight-loss to be slower than some. Now that I'm starting to eat more types of food it has already slowed to about 1.5 lbs a week as apposed to 4.5 a week. Kinda bummed by the slower loss rate but as long as I'm losing it's OK.

I think it's true people often don't realize that a tall body can carry a lot of extra weight and not look like people's idea of what "fat" people look like. I had a couple of nurses who were involved in my pre-op testing say that I didn't look "fat enough" for the surgery. But my BMI definitely qualified me.

I try very hard not to compare my weight or weight-loss to others but it happens inevitably.

Right now I think I've left the honeymoon stage and am in the nitty-gritty stage of having to work at my weight loss. Pre-sleeve I would have been sabotaging myself by now!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
