Wow...you really look amazing. And you seem very healthy and happy with your sleeve! As far as the loose skin, have you noticed it beginning to tighten up since reaching goal? I've heard time really helps ( and a LOT of lotion...)

Do you feel as though this can / will continue to work for you, or is it a struggle to limit your food intake?

And lastly, do you work out regularly? It looks as though you must do something on a regular basis...that's what im looking forward to: being able to sustain weight loss, while working out around 4-5 times/week and eating like a normal person: balanced, healthy meals and the occasional splurge. That's my dream...

Yes, the skin has tightened up somewhat and that's just with time. I can literally grab hand fulls of skin especially the stomach area above my belly button (below the belly button is pretty flat) and my back thigh/legs, also a ton under my arms :( . I've been working out 5-6 times a week since February 2012 (mainly weights and zumba). I took some before pics in February 2012 with just my bra and undies and will take after pics in February 2013 to see if it helped any. I think my biceps look good, but it's been difficult trying to get the triceps built up.

This tool is AMAZING! I STILL have pretty good restriction. Sometimes it's a few bites and that's it, then there are other times where I feel like I ate a whole lot (but it's really no where near a lot of food, more like a normal thin person would eat). The most difficult part is the head/body craving sweets :(, I LOVE candy and sweets. It's especially really difficult once a month during tom. But I didn't cut 85% of my tummy out to turn back. I refuse to give up. I do eat whatever I want, and If I get too close to my goal (I try to stay under lol), I just start to watch what I'm eating, and drink more Water and it works. Water ugh, that is really the most challenging, but even without sleevie we should be drinking more of it.

I hope I answered everything lol!

Yes! You totally answered everything....Thanks so much. I appreciate you showing us what can be done when we use the sleeve as a tool, not a cure. And its great to know that it can be maintained for a sustained length of time.

Thanks for sharing, and again, you really look fantastic.

Also, when I said I eat whatever I want, I still eat pretty healthy food choices :). I'm not into fried foods...I love steak now, never did before, I love veggies and salads too, love chicken, rice, Pasta, good stuff :). Again my problem is sweets ugh lol...just wanted to clarify that lol :)

I am 15 months at goal (reached goal at 9 months out). You should start a topic under the post surgery section to see if people are still losing after 1 year out. I believe people are still losing. Best wishes to you! and keep keeping on :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
