My Mexicalli Experience!

Recommended Posts

Wow!! I just wanted to take a moment now that I'm officially on the losers bench to share my experience with Dr Aceves and his staff.... Wonderful is the only word I can find!! The entire experience felt like going to a spa!!

From beginning to end it was quick efficient and organized. From emails and phone calls with the coordinator Nina to the driver Ramon!

I was always escorted everywhere ... Anything my friend that went with me needed was seen to... Like she wanted her teeth cleaned... Yolanda... Ninas mom set it up!! The doctors come in three times a day! The housekeepers clean constantly and clean your room three times a day!

Almater hospital is a small efficient private clean hospital filled with really nice nurses and every staff that even passed me in the hallways always smiled and greeted me warmly!

I have been in USA hospitals as a nurse for 32 yrs and know good care.... This was a fabulous experience!

I highly recommend Dr Aceves !

The lucerna hotel we stayed at the night before surgery was so beautiful! And excellent service!

Both my best friend and I said it did feel like a vacation instead if a surgery!! I was so well taken care of!! Every detail attended to!

I like that Dr Aceves has his own floor of the hospital so all the nurses know what they are doing! I like that they keep you in the hospital for three days and make sure every thing is as it should be... Then dc us on day 4 !

It was a wonderful experience!!

dr Aceves is warm and kind... Dr Campos works with him and has had the VSG... So he is a fabulous resource !!

All I can recommend ready2 b is to research the doctors and talk to their coordinators and former pts.... For me... I wanted to be in a real hospital not a recovery house and clinic and transported back and forth daily for the leak tests ... Dr Aceves for me was an excellent choice .... Good luck on your journey!! Feel free to PM me!

with dr aceves you stay in an amazing hospital with big private rooms

there's wifi and a big tv in your room, everything is super clean and new

the nurses and staff are super sweet and helpful

you stay 3 nights and 4 days, you leave the 4th day morning

they do 2 leaks teast and take your drain out before you leave

i had my surgery on monday and was at the mall shopping all day saturday

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
