October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! My sleeve is scheduled for 10/11/12. I'm excited and loving this forum. Great info. Anyone also having gallbladder removed? Also, I have lupus and wondered if anyone else had been sleeved who had lupus?

That's the plan, I want to have my gall bladder out at the same time as vsg, Mine however is viable so I don't know if my Dr. will do it, but this will be my 3rd abdominal surgery, and 6months from now I don't want to have to go back and have a 4th surgery in such a short time. It's just not that good of an idea to have that much anesthesia in such a short time.

I am just curious... How many of us October sleevers are guys? Not that I have anything against the ladies here -love you all, but there seems to be an overwhelming number of girl posts... Even in "the men's room" forum.

Me -I am a male, 45, live in the PNW... and I don't personally know anyone who has had a gastric sleeve. Thank goodness for VST!!

I'm starting liquid diet tomorrow, I hope I won't be a miserable person when I.m starving... I stocked up on sugar free Jello, pudding and Popsicles! Can anyone recommend good low fat Soups, I.m going to try trader joe's although they are a little high in sodium. I will be looking for moral support o. This site. And praying for will power! Good luck Octosleevers!!

I am on day 9 pre-op! I have my anesthesiologist appointment today. I can't wait to hear what they have to say. I have to say each morning I wake up the pre-op diet gets easier and easier, minus my dreams about food. It is like a good night sleep and a fresh start to the day really helps.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
