The Stuff They Don't Tell You

Recommended Posts

I use Miralax and Target brand soluble Fiber - dissolves completely in anything and has no taste. Miralax is an osmotic laxative, so it works by pulling Fluid in from other parts of the body. So just be sure to add extra fluids (that in itself may help fix the problem too). Extra fluids wth fiber bulk is a must. The fiber will bulk things up regardless. But picture a bowl of pancake batter, and then throw a few cups of sawdust n it. What happens to the batter? The same thing that will happen to your poop if you don't have enough fluids. Saw this in an ER once. They guy literally backed up through his entire system. Just like a clogged toilet.

Not. Pooping.

They never told me I would poop like once every two weeks. This is a real bummer. I make some good decisions in there. :)

you should find a place that sells kangen Water. not the machines, but the Water itself. the machines are expensive, but buying the water isn't. they charge you for the jugs (which you can buy your own), and where i live it's only like $10/mo for an unlimited amount. you could bring a cistern & have it filled up if you wanted. lol :)

"Kangen water is also known to have small clusters of 5 to 6 water molecules , as a result of the electrolysis process. Making it a Super Hydrating water. You can taste the difference in your first glass. Tap water is typically 12 to 15 molecules per cluster. That is over double the size of Kangen water.

Small clusters also mean that your body can readily absorb the minerals in this water into your cells in mere seconds. Reverse Osmosis, Distilled and tap water will slosh around in your stomach and often flush key minerals out of your body because they lack these important properties.

The electrical charge of Kangen machine re-arranges healthy minerals that are naturally included in your tap water. As a result, Kangen water contains essential minerals, such as Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium, in an ionic form that can be assimilated immediately into your body."

magnesium that's easily digested & absorbed by your body will make you poop.

:)

in regards to the electrical charge.. it's not what it sounds like..

"Kangen is a Japanese word, best translated into English as "Return To Original" which means several things when used to describe water.

Kangen water is simply an easier way of stating: Alkaline, ionized, electron rich, restructured, micro clustered, active hydrogen saturated, oxidation reduced, powerful water.

Kangen Water is first purified, then given an electrical charge to recreate electron rich water. It's molecular formula shifts from H2O to H+ OH- In plain old English.... It's now living water again. .

Kangen water is water that has gone through a Special Electrolysis Process that changes the pH of the water to ALKALINE and much, much more.

Most other water electrolysis equipment will not create active hydrogen in their water, therefore, the equipment merely produces ionized alkaline water, not true Kangen water."

seriously, it makes you go to the bathroom & you can taste & feel the difference. you can also use it to cook with & make coffee or tea or use with crystal light or whatever. you can even bathe with it.

:)

where ARE you' date=' iggychic?![/quote']

Lol I make my house sound like a prison heh heh. It's actually an old hotel/b&b in port Townsend wa. (it was taxed as a hotel because it had so many rooms). You can google my lovely prison by typing in "the James house, port Townsend".

I went down to half a dose on the Valium and may get to leave my room if I'm lucky lol. We keep all stickies in room six for some reason. Maybe cuz it's furnished with pieces left in the 20s (they are much older) by a former patient. :).

I actually have a cistern but it's 16'x15' so I can't get it in the car. That said there is a dealer up town and I'm really having trouble with the water so I'll send dh up for some tomorrow.

Hehem... Anyone else tried hydrating from the errr other end? I found that a plain clean tap Water enema at home really got things moving. I dont think they are meant for more than occasional use (some professional colonic irrigators will try and make you a, erm, regular) but aren't always unpleasant and the result is satisfactory...

Oh and I can't wait for my surgery! The way I see it, I have eaten enough for a lifetime - I may miss some food or drinks but really I've kindof abused my food privelage...

Also, most of the side effects mentioned here involve some minor physical discomforts- to get some idea why they don't really bother me, they are a small price to pay if I can lose the weight causing a bulging disc causing sciatica and nerve pain from l4/l5 disc. Take a sledge hammer and smash your foot, at the same time randomly stick some pins in your calf! No hyperbole, I'm on (gradually decreasing dose) OxyContin aka hillbilly heroin and two types of nerve suppressant for the pain... I'm only 25 years old and some of the damage done to my spine is irreparable :(

I'm going to check out the last straw thread sassy pants mentioned, short of some sort of major leak disaster- for me personally- im gunna take my chances with the devil I don't know (& you guys have helped prepare me for)

Good luck all!!!

you should try this toothpaste called Coral White. You can get it on Amazon. I use it myself. It's Fluoride free & made from coral Calcium. it helps rebuild teeth (yes, it can happen.. teeth are bones, every other bone in your body is capable of healing, why not teeth?)

there's also a book: http://www.amazon.com/Teeth-Whitening-Cure-Lester-Sawicki/dp/0984370617/

it talks about more than just whitening teeth.

http://revolutiontooth.com/

there's also this article.. about root canals & whatnot: http://thehealthcoach1.com/?p=40 << really gets you to thinking..

i would also recommend viewing a documentary called The Beautiful Truth...

and this site's got a lot of info.. http://www.mercurypoisoned.com/

there was also a Norwegian documentary about dental assistants & how they're infertal or their children are/were born with birth defects due to mercury poisoning..

I didn't know that you could dump with this surgery. I went in for my checkup at 3 mos and explained that all prtoein powders and shakes cause immediate diarriah and doc tells me - you're dumping. Paperwork I had said dumping only happened with bypass.

I also suffer from major Constipation and slimes too- expected those but would love to be out of this stage!

For those of you taking Miralax - is it safe to take everyday and does it cause cramping? I tried the Smooth Move tea but cramps were horrible.

Never knew I wouldn't be hungry EVER - I could probably go days without eating or drinking. I have to eat and drink at set times or I won't get in my liquid and food for the day!

I wish I had known years ago that this surgery was an option to get rid of my ulcers and severe acid reflux. I still take an acid pill here and there but am officially ulcer free!

I take Miralax every day and have no cramping or problems at all! I have gas but I think that goes along with this surgery:(

I'm so sorry the smooth move tea gave you cramps!!! I haven't had any issues with it at all...it's the ONLY thing that doesn't give me cramps. Crazy how we all react so differently to things. I hope the Miralax works for you.

This may just be me' date=' but I sleep on my front and I go to sleep on my side front so the right side of my body is pressed to the bed.

Well I have to smooth out my night clothes and hike up the waist band of my pj pants above my stomach because all the wrinkles or gathers in clothes feel like fingers digging me.

Its odd I have no gall bladder less fat and less stomach in that area now so it’s a bit hollow and I can feel that much much more!

Its not a bad thing just a odd thing I notice and some others may notice too![/quote']

I have to fo this exact same thing! I feel like the Princess & the Pea! :)

Ok - what type of stool softener do you all recommend? ((I can NOT believe I am asking this - but I'm among friends...)

Colace or Dulcolax softener, they have the same active ingredient. Worked wonders! I was mortified asking, & buying it too. But it was worth the results! ;)

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

Good Luck this procedure is well worth it I am down to 249.6 lb please continue with the process..

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
