What is your current fill in your 4cc band?

Recommended Posts

I was banded on Sept 11th and just had my first fill...1.9 cc in a 4 cc band. I see a difference in how much I can eat, but can still eat more than 1/2 cup food. I'm gonna give this fill a couple weeks then decide if I need to go back for another.

I was at 2.3cc and that was way too tight! So now I am at 1.8cc and we shall see if that is too loose or just right. It is such a fine line!

My first fill was 1.6cc, 2 months after surgery. Last Friday (Nov 17) I got my second fill - 3.1cc! I was a little worried and I have pb'd once, but I think it is under control now. I have to eat really slow, but am able to most solids (not tortilla, as expected it caused the pb!) So, I am crossing my fingers.

I was banded August 1st and have had 3 fills, and 1 unfill. I was filled the 3rd time to 2 ccs and it was just too much. It was horrible. I am not sure if I am at my sweet spot, but I am feeling good about what I am able to eat. It has only been a week since the unfill.

SO now I am at 1.75 ccs.

I guess that my first fill was pretty small, but I also had slight restriction with just the band unfilled.

.8 and i've been banded for 9 weeks and a day!

I just got my second fill today because I had absolutely no restriction and was gaining. My first fill was 1.5cc which must have completely evaporated. So, the doc filled it up to 3.6cc. He took it up to 4cc at first but the fluoro showed nothing going through at all. Not a good sign so he backed it off a bit. I can definitely feel restriction now!

So far, Water and Soup are staying down fine but do have gas like I did when I first got the band. Am trying mylicon to see if it helps. I'm hoping I can handle this much fill so the scale number will start coming down again. I would really love to drop ten by the new year.

I am really feeling like I need a fill.

I am still fairly tight in the am, but can eat too much in the pm.

Will wait a few more weeks and watch my weight. I have not lost, but not gained over the Christmas holidays, but defin ate too many sweets.

Cheers everyone.

Hi,

Just wanted to post a little update. When I got my last fill (3.1cc) I was scared that it may be too much, but actually I think it was perfect. The first 4 weeks I felt perfect restriction and I lost 2 pounds a week. I did have 3 PBs during that time (mostly the first 2 weeks- learning!). Then in the fifth week I noticed it was a little looser. It is still helping a lot as I have continued to lose @2 pounds a week (total 15.4 in 7 weeks). No PBs in the last 3 weeks.

I am not going to be able to get another fill until April because my work schedule is so hectic, so hopefully this one will keep on keepin on.

I'm at 2.5 as of today. The nurse said it was often too much for people with the 4cc band and to take it slow with liquids for a few days. It makes me nervous, but also hopefull. I'm looking forward to the 'sweet spot'

I just got my 2nd fill for a total of 6cc in my 4cc band. It has been less that 24 hours and I definitely feel more restriction - hopefully will do well this time. Has anyone else had the experience of this amount or more in 4cc band? My surgeon assured me that he has a few patients with more and it is very individualized on how much fill is tolerated.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
