I remember thinking, "What the hell was I thinking?" But at 11days out I can say it gets better everyday. I took my kid school shopping today. Hang in there.

I had my surgery Monday aug 13th. So congratulations to you first of all. I have had alot of soreness, but today (post op 3 days) was much better. Although I was still sore, I had so much more energy, I was up all day, walking alot more, and only needed pain medicine once..(getting ready for bed) I have been constantly sipping on Water, I've been switching it up and adding a splash of cranberry or apple juice. I have about as much experience as you thus far, so I cant say too much about what the future holds...but just try to remember you did this for a reason, you wanted this, and before long things will seem more normal. I keep reminding myself it's going to be worth it, I will not regret this, and I can do it! Keep your head up, and good luck!!

I just got home today. I am super tired. Only focusing on hydrating until my follow up next Thursday.

32 oz of g2! The rest Water. That's my plan!

My surgeon said no Protein for a week, just stay hydrated. Everything I drank only went down warm for 5 days, then it got better.

My doctor told me nothing but Clear liquids, then day 5 iopure (protein) day 7 chewable Vitamins. If your talking Protein and Vitamins 2 days out, somebody gave you bad info I think, it's tough that first, but I found it gets easier each day , I'm 18 days out and just started mushy food! Down 42 lbs!

I'm 2 days post op, surgery was on the 21st. Only think I'm allowed to have is Clear Liquids. I was a huge huge Water drinker before surgery and am having trouble just sipping on water now, which is really really hard for me. Tried Popsicles today and did alright with those.

I'm 1 day post-op, I'm feeling awesome! No nausea , a little bit of gas. But I'm walking all the time, breathing on the peek-flo to clear my lungs out. I'm so happy with how I'm progressing!! Have keeped everything down. Water, diluted grape juice and diluted apple juice. Going to have Jello tonight!! Sip. Sip. Sip And walk, walk, walk!! Keeps your lungs clear and it's refreshing!. I have been having slight headaches from the morphine but nothing Tylenol Elxir can't handle!! I hope it all continues!!!

God bless all of you on the journey!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
