Dry Mouth On Pre-Op Diet

OK so has anyone else had this problem. I am drinking a lot of water but for some reason my mouth and throat is very dry. Any recommendations?

Yes I stay with a cotton mouth and experiencing bad breath. I'm told I'm in the Ketosis (fat burning) stage. Due to high protein and no carbs. Gum can't even cover this dragon breath

If your diet is low carb, you might be in ketosis which makes your tongue feel like it is wearing a sock! Also, if you are drinking lots of whey, I know it makes my mouth feel kind of dry. brush your tongue, try minty gum.... wash your mouth out after drinking whey drinks...

My diet is protein shakes, non fat cottage cheese, broth and sugar free jello. Thats all I can have :(

You get cottage cheese??? Wow!! I wish I got cottage cheese!!

Yes I am glad I get cottage cheese and the sugar-free jello is my go to snack.

Yep it's the protein. I'm on WHEY protein shakes, jello, water, apple/grape 100% juice no sugar and sugar free popsciles. I cant wait to have my phill cream cheese (fat free) wrapped in deli meat. HMMMMM...i can taste it now on flat break crackers

I just ordered this gum that is for dry mouths it is called biotene dry mouth gum and it is sugar free.I'am hoping that is works.

Let us know how that gum works

I will. It should be in anyday.

I get the same way. What's helped me is adding sugar free crystal lite to my water. For some reason the flavored water helps way more than just plain water.
