What Do You Take With Your Tuna?

Recommended Posts

I love the bumble bee tuna chili spicy thai. I usually take it just on its own. I am 4 weeks post op and trying to avoid as much as possible carbs, my first thought was crackers but I realize those are so easy to take in and could become a slider food. So what do you take with your tuna? And if it is crackers which do you suggest?

i usually eat the same spicy tuna but when i get sick of it I make a bit of Tuna salad with greek yogurt, cheese, pickle relish and mustard.

I love the Wasa Rye crisps (11g carbs/slice) and can only do a single cracker piled high with tuna for a meal.... so for me the trade off's are worth it. I dont watch my carbs as much as I should, but I also eat the multigrain "everything" flavor bagel thins with tuna for a quick bite and it works just as good (20g carbs for 2 crisps)

My nutritionist pointed me in the direction of these tortillas from a company called La Tortilla. They have lots of different flavored tortillas to use for wraps and such. They're low carb, contain 5-8 grams of Protein, and are high Fiber. http://latortillafactory.com/products-3.aspx

Pickled sliced beets. Yup, sounds gross but then again I make my tuna with brown mustard. :)

Sent from my mobile productivity killer.

I add a chopped boiled egg with a little relish, salt, pepper and two tablespoon of mayo (The low fat kraft mayo with olive oil). I then make lettuce wraps just drop the tuna mix/flatten it in the middle of my lettuce and roll it twice. Yummy, yummy, yummy.

I buy the pouches of StarKist Sandwich Ready tuna. It is so good. It is mixed with mayo and very tiny diced cekery for some crunch ( so small you don't have to worry about the trings). I put it on a Wasa craker and 1/2 slice of murnster cheese and tick it under broiler til cheese tarts to melt and you have a great tuna melt. These tune pouches re great. They are 90 calories and the ouch does not have to be refrigerated until after opened. When I am out running errands or will be out awhile, I always take one with me. Just open and eat riht out of he pouch.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
